I’m a beginner in free motion quilting and machine embroidery but I would love to get better at both and do so with beautiful Aurifil thread–which would be fabulous.

I would like to think I am intermediate at free motion quilting although not very good. I would say I am intermediate at appliqué too. Now if you consider machine embroidery quilting and appliqué I would say expert! Thank you for the give away!

I’m definitely a beginner free motion quilter, as I just took up quilting. (I’m an avid sewer of over 30 years though). Machine applique is at an intermediate at this point. I’m still developing my skills and learning new ones. It is the one thing about sewing that has kept me hooked since a small child – there is always something new to learn and try. Best of luck to everyone who entered.

Array of beautiful colors! I love thread! I consider myself an advanced free motion quilter and machine appliquer. I have used Sulky for applique for ahhhh… decades now (it’s really been that long!!! LOL). Love the sheen it adds to a project. Thank you for such a wonderful give-away. Hope I win!!!

I would say I’m an intermediate at machine quilting. Still lots of practice going on!
I would also say I’m a beginner at machine appliqué. I just haven’t done a lot of appliqué. What I have done, I have used Sulky rayon and I love it! My little Bernina seems to love it too.
Thanks–this would be amazing to win!

Hi, Lori! I found your blog several months ago and I love it! You have given me such inspiration!
I think I am at the Intermediate level for free motion quilting. I wish I had more time to practice. Maybe once I retire I will be able to find that extra time!
I am an upper intermediate to lower advanced with machine applique. I love quilts that mix applique with traditional blocks.\\
Thank you for the fabulous giveaway!

Intermediate for machine quilting. For machine applique, I would have to say a weak intermediate. I can do it, but not necessarily pleased with the results.

I am an intermediate FMQ of 5 years. I enjoy experimenting by filling the spaces with interesting designs . I hope to do some negative space quilting for my next project for myself !!!! I am probably a 30 year intermediate applique by machine person. I don’t do it that often , but think I am proficient enough to rise to most applique tasks.
Barbara Townsend
I guess I would say I am advanced at free motion quilting (although I have a long way to go) and intermediate at machine appliqué (mostly because I rarely do it). I have been quilting for many years and have been fairly successful

Hooked on Quilting
As far as free-motion quilting goes, I’d say I’m more of a pre-beginner. My brain knows exactly what to do, but my hands won’t cooperate. I end up doing a lot of stitch-in-the-ditch and echo quilting because of that.
I’m much better at machine applique though. I’d say definitely an intermediate and might go so far as saying almost advanced. My Pfaff has a great blanket stitch, so I use it a lot. Love using rayon thread on top and a silk-finish thread in the bobbin to do machine applique.
Robin Pinder
I’m a beginner at free motion quilting (I’ve only tried it once) but I liked it a lot. I’m more used to applique so I’m sort of advanced beginner there. There’s more applique when I sew for the grands because it looks so cute. But I love Sulky thread. It came with my first embroidery machine years ago, and even though I’ve strayed to try others, Sulky remains my favorite and first choice. It’s got great shine, beautiful colors and less breakage.
Kimberly Redwood
I am a beginner with my Gammil long arm and intermediate with my Pfaff. Intermediate with machine appliqué. But I am always learning. ..
