Good Morning, Quilters!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Statistics show that 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime…that means that 1250 of The Inbox Jaunt’s 10,000 followers will face breast cancer!
The best way to fight breast cancer is to have a plan that helps you detect breast cancer in its early stages.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003. I had just had a mammogram that was clear. I went for my gynecological exam and my doctor felt a lump. He sent me for another mammogram (at a different facility) which picked up the spot. I had a mastectomy and chemo and am cancer free today. Be vigilant and Think Pink!

Lori, after having a screening mammogram on 6/22, diagnostic Mammo on 7/5 and a needle biopsy on 7/11, it was confirmed that I had DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ).
On 8/31 I had a partial Mastectomy, after Pathology, the results were Zero Grade Cancer. Thanks to the new equipment Tomosynthesis (3D Mammogram) early detection is much easier and more comfortable than before.
I start radiation therapy on 11/1, every day for three weeks to cut my chances of reoccurrence.
Thanks to the support of family and friends sharing their journeys through the difficult decisions, once you hear “you have cancer”, I was able to Stand Up to Cancer and fight like a woman. No girl should fight this disease.
I post on my Facebook cover page every day in October to remind all to schedule and get a mammogram. And it works, women have replied that they did schedule and just did it.
Thank you for supporting – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I’m Pretty in Pink.
