Self breast exam is so important, do it in the shower. Make sure to have your mammogram. If caught early, cancer can be beaten.
Dolores
Ladies, please do a breast self exam once a month – pick a day (eg. the 1st or your birthdate) and do it. if you find something different, you will have caught it early. No change – it will give you peace of mind.

To each and every one of you that is fighting this dreadful disease – Keep at it, treasure each and every day! A dear friend was told she had 2 years to live. That was 3 1/2 years ago – and she just finished riding a 150 mile bike ride! She is strong, beautiful and determined to live a long life to see her kids grow up. May you all be blessed with her positive spirit!

I’ve lost several dear friends to breast cancer, one was a young single mother. If sewing and quilting could save one person, my fingers would be bloody from working day and night. Thank you for this give-away to call attention to this cause, and remind women to get their mammagram!
Linda
I have had a mammogram since I was 39. I am 60 now. In 2003 I had surgery to remove a lump from my breast. I was told before the surgery I could wake up without my left breast. It was a scary time. Thankfully it was not cancer. Breast Cancer Prevention and Breast Cancer early detection works. Still Pretty in Pink.

Lost my mother to breast cancer 11 years ago this month. My cousin is fighting right now to a very aggressive form and undergoing a new clinical trial right now. So many new advances in the past 11 years. Praying for a cure soon.

About one year ago I had my routine mammo. As a Nurse I had always been vigilant about my screenings, they found a teeny shadow, smaller than a head of a quilting pin. My story is a lucky one( lump removed, no cancer in the lymph node~only one removed), there are so many new therapies ( breast conserved, internal radiation for 5 days, medication for 5 years, no chemo). The outcomes of these treatments improve the earlier they are found. Get your your annual exams!

We’ve come a long way in the fight against breast cancer. If you are diagnosed, you can get through it. I know, because I’m a survivor! By the grace of God!

Just healing from my radiation. Had no family members with BC. An early small cancer found in a yearly mammogram. Didn’t need chemotherapy because it was early. There’s the lesson in this for my family and friends.
