THE Book-Exciting News!

November 21, 2016

Machine Quilting 1-2-3, Lori Kennedy

Good Morning, Quilters!

A few days ago, as I was walking back from my mailbox and absentmindedly thumbing the pages of a quilt catalog…

This is what I found…

As all of YOU know…I spent much of 2016 stitching tutorials and working with the fabulous editors at Martingale writing, re-writing, proofing and editing my first book…

But I had not seen the official photos!  THE PHOTOS ARE FABULOUS!

Needless to say I was thrilled!!!!

Machine Quilting 1-2-3, Lori Kennedy

THE BOOK

Our book has a title:   Free-Motion Machine Quilting 1-2-3 and we have an ISBN number!

It will be available March, 2017 and is being advertised in Martingale’s Wholesale catalog right now.  (Stores should order NOW–it is sure to sell out quickly, right folks?)

Machine Quilting 1-2-3, Lori Kennedy

I can’t tell you how excited I am!

And it would never have happened without YOU, Gentle Reader!!!!

Machine Quilting 1-2-3, Lori Kennedy

In a week where we recount all we are thankful for…

This is one of many!

What about YOU?  What are YOU thankful for?

We’d LOVE to hear!

You could knock me down with a (FMQ) feather!

machinequilting-lorikennedy005

Thankfully yours,

Lori

‘Bout time Mrs. Kennedy! Great work–we want first run, autographed copies! Here’s to 2017! XXO KEK

Yes KEK is so rightLori, AUTOGRAPHED copies of the First Runs for us.

Remember when you first began your blog? Many have been with you from the beginning learning as you so generously shared all you knew, especially how to tweak a pattern just so making us “feel” that we could do that difficult pattern after all. And, we have tried, & tried again, until AhHa so that is how it is done. Lori, with your open heart, you have allowed so many of us to become better quilters, & designers by buoying our confidence. Congratulations to a teacher who so many think of as a friend & mentor who through perseverance & talent from God is achieving the acclaim so rightfully deserved. Thank You ever so much.

BTW, those feathers are marvellous … they look bejewelled.

    What good news!
I’m one of your early followers-before you divulged that you were thinking about publishing a book- and have been patiently waiting for it.
    “Ditto” to ” loosecannon2″ ‘s comments above.
    Thanksgiving blessings to all.

Lori, I am so happy for you and for me. I think my first post on your site was asking if you were going to write a book. Can’t wait to get my copy (the reason why I’m happy for me). As always, would like instant gratification, but things are worth so much more when we have to wait for them. Congratulations to you, and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

        November 21, 2016 at 7:09 pm

Uh, and please consider something else….I would dearly love to purchase an autographed copy…Might that be possible? Also, at the local library in our former FL town, if a patron asks for a particular new book and the library doesn’t have it, it is obligated to order it for the library ! How many libraries are there that we all have access to? Besides my personal copy, I also will need another one for our annual guild birthday party in April.

Will your new book have all your tutorials thus far in it? Also, do you have a tutorial for the feathers? They are lovely.

    1. Lori Kennedy says:
      November 21, 2016 at 5:00 pm

The book includes 61 of my favorite motifs–which is not the full collection. No tutorial for the feathers available…I’ll see what I can do in 2017

I’m excited for you. I love books because they work when the internet does not. You also don’t need to recharge a battery to look at the book. I guess I’m just old school.
I love how you have broken down your designs that make it easy to learn and I appreciate this website more than you could possible imagine. Thank you for being there for us and Congratulation on you new book.

Yay!!! Fireworks!!!! You deserve even more and I am so glad that this has happened to such a giving person. At this time of year, we seem to be able to do that, but you give to all of us, all year long. And so, I wish you many blessings as you continue to inspire ME to work hard and not give up. I can’t wait for the feather tutorials and whatever else, you have waiting for us, but in the meantime, I will anxiously await my copy of your book and if you do happen to go on tour and autograph books, I will hope that you visit Big Sky country! HAPPY THANKSGIVING to YOU and to ALL the world!

Your feathers look precious. Thank your for that lovely idea, I will try to stitch and cut some of them to be an elegant and personal touch with all my presents under the Christmas tree. Kind wishes! Marie

    Dearest Lori,
You deserve this. You have given and given and given. You are the one I first began studying with in April of 2015. I’ve made some progress and have more to do. But you were my first Instructor.
Each morning, as soon as I got up, I went online to meet with you as I drank coffee and doodled your motifs.
May God continue to bless you. With love and thanks,
    Jacqueline

They were great, and I am going to go through them many more times for sure. I love what you do and look forward to whatever new FMQ designs you create. Thanks a bunch!
