Stencil Giveaway!

January 23, 2014

Stencil GiveawayAs you know, I use stencils frequently in my quilts.  I used a child’s stencil for the Snow Crystal Quilt HERE and I used a stencil to stitch my Shamrock quilt last March.  See the Shamrocks HERE.  (The Shamrock Quilt is actually the Geranium Stencil #SCL-513.16.5)

Whenever I use a stencil, I “lori-ize” it by adding a lot of extra quilting.  See The Red Flower Quilt HERE

Quilt StencilToday, The Stencil Company is offering readers of The Inbox Jaunt five chances (Yes–five chances) to win my two favorite stencils–The Grid Stencils:   SCL-461.00 and SCL -457-10

I use these stencils frequently to mark straight lines and grids.

Quilt Stencil

In order to win one of the five sets…(and to keep you moving on your Quilt Notebooks–read more HERE)…tell me where you are from and  how many UFOs (quilts only)  you have counted so far…

Quilt Stencil The Giveaway will close on Sunday evening and winners will be announced on Wednesday.  Winners will be chosen at random (no extra credit for high numbers of UFOs! )  NOTE–Due to the high cost of shipping–this is a US-only Giveaway–However, I would LOVE to hear from YOU about your UFOs even if you are not eligible to win…

Quilt Stencil

Good luck and Happy Stitching!

I’m from Michigan. Only 2 UFO’s. One that has been in process for WAY too long and the other on the machine now getting quilted. ; ) Love the stencil idea.

  • Janet Parde

I am in Beatrice, NE. It is subzero this morning here but no snow. I have 4 tops that need quilting plus at least 14 WIP that are currently “resting” and lots of kitted quilts (cut and bagged and ready to sew) and many, many plans, lol. I should live so long!

  • Janice

I am from southwest Wyoming. I have 3 UFO’s and 7 WIP’s. Thanks for sharing!

  • I am from Minnesota. I have 4 or 5 UFO’s right now, but have plans to get two of them finished by March! Progress!

I just started following your blog and enjoy it very much. In the past my New Year’s resolution has been to lose weight. That never seems to work out so this year my resolution is to try and finish my seven quilting UFOs along with 12 cross stitch ones. I am your next door neighbor near LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Your tutorials are inspiring me to take another try at FMQ.

  • DakotaEssence

I’m in North Dakota. I have 2 UFOs.

  • From Minnesota and have about 25 UFO’s in the works. It’s a goal of mine to get on those and not start anything new this year. Will it happen, only time will tell.

  • Carole D

I have counted eight UFO quilts in my project boxes. Since I started longarming for others, they just seem to be at a standstill. I am hoping that I can be disciplined enough to set aside some time for my own projects this year.

Hi, I live in SE Minnesota where it is -15 degrees this morning and my grandchildren don’t have school again today because of the cold. I have to many UFO ‘s to count, I’m still afraid to quilt on my larger tops although I’m learning a lot from your block. Thank you.

  • I am in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and I have just finished quilting several tops and now I am working on making crumb blocks from my scraps. I also have a large stack of crazy quilt blocks made that need to be put together into a quilt or quilts. I haven’t started anything new to work on……trying to get the scraps and strips used.

    • Judy Tucker

Tell me, what is a crumb block??

      • Use your small scraps and sew them together however you choose until you get a block the size you want. I make mine 4″. If you go to Bonnie Hunter’s website, she has a tutorial on how she does it. That’s where I first learned about it.

  • Debbie

There are seven quilt tops hanging in my sewing room. I’m considering having one of them professionally quilted. The others? Well, I have to really work to build the confidence to do them myself. The only machine I have is my Bernina 440QE; it’s a bit difficult for me to do large quilts on it.
