This is a perfect photo, speaking for the rose as it does, and with the rose offering us her uplifting beauty. Moving. My favorite rose color too. This is the second time in a week I’ve seen this rose. The other is in”Mi Amour”, by Margarete Heinisch, who appliqued these roses for her Rose of Sharon block in her Baltimore quilt.
Your Sunday photos are a nice reminder that at least once a week we need to sit back, relax and enjoy that which is around us. We scurry through life and sometimes miss the beauty of nature. We need to take a walk and make sure we “smell the roses”.
It does look like a Chicago Peace – one of our grandmother’s favorites and her name was Rose…but I have never had any luck with keeping that rose alive. It is beautiful and probably very fragrant- I can smell it from here. Your photography captures it’s beauty! Thank you and Happy Summer.

Beautiful! I’m always trying to take the “perfect” picture of a rose, but can never capture the photo. Lori you captured it perfectly.
