This is beautiful. Reminds me of my grandma, a Midwestern farm wife who sewed and quilted life-long. The community quilt frame was in her living room most of the time so we all started our lives crawling around under it! She lived to 92 and was active most of those years.
Marta
Doesn’t that prove quilting is healthy for you! 🙂

Would be a dream come true to watch him work..

Tenacity is the perfect title for this image. Tenacity is synonymous with persistence, determination, and perseverance. Among its meanings is “the quality or fact of being able to grip something firmly.” I like to think that the subject is persevering through life in general, and, in the immediate moment, is gripping firmly to her sewing needle to attend to her task at hand.

Yes….tears here….

After a hard day, maybe working in the fields, this Grandma found her special time to do what she truly loved. Wonderful .

Beautiful.

I love this. Look at all the life lines, beautiful hands and sweet little knot, on the top of her head! She appears to be struggling, threading that needle. I can relate!
Thank you, Lori, for sharing.

She is so much the oriental version of myself, at this time and age, that it really hit me between the eyes. Great painting!

This will be all of us one day. The determination to still sew will remain within us always!
