WORKING AHEAD
While you are working on Block Three, you might want to start thinking about batting and creating your backing. I like my wall hangings to be rather flat, so I plan to choose a low loft batting like Warm and Natural Cotton batting or 80/20 Warm which is 80% cotton and 20% polyester.
I usually piece my backing with medium sized scraps. Because my quilt top is so colorful, I decided to tone it down on the back with a mix of gray fabrics. I prefer to wash my backing fabrics–I don’t want the back to shrink and cause distortion of my quilt if I choose to wash it later. Also, consider starching the backing fabric–it will help it slide when it’s time to…my favorite…FREE MOTION QUILT!!!!

I love buttons! I use mostly warm and white
I love Buttons! Tell you why, my mom had a tin of them all types and colors and when I was a young girl, I used to take them out and make “familys” and stories out of the matching ones. I would play like that for hours. I guess it didn’t take much to entertain me..lol. But one of my fondest memories.
I love Warm and Natural Batting and I love buttons.
I most often use 80/20 batting and I love the one made by Pellon. It’s affordable and I find that it has a very even thickness — no thin places like I’ve had in some other brands.
I love Hobbs 80/20 – especially for wall hangings.
I love Warm and natural and BUTTONs too
I’m still learning about different types of batting sooooooo I Love Buttons.
So far the only batting that I have used is Quilter’s Dream but I love it!
I love buttons! Always have. Any shape, size, or color. I think it’s because we played with them as children.
I love buttons! Mostly use Hobbs 80/20 but lately I’ve been trying some other brands to see what else I might like.
Because I don’t live in an urban setting, my batting choices are limited. I would love to try a wide variety. I’d love to get my hands on some wool.
I love buttons
