Good Morning, Quilters and Quilt Lovers!
You don’t have to be a quilter to appreciate the beautiful quilts on display at the International Quilt Market this year!
I was lucky enough to be asked by Sulky Threads to demonstrate my quilts (and their gorgeous threads) at Schoolhouse and in the Sulky booth. In between demos, I walked the floor with my camera…with all of YOU in mind. With over 500 photos on my camera…I will be sharing the rest of this week. Next week, we will be back to our “regular programming” with occasional Quilt Market photos peppered in.
NOTE-I’ve included all the information I have on these quilts. A few have no information…sorry!

The quilting on this is gorgeous. Imagine this quilt with meandering all over it…(just saying…)(#meandernomore)

JEN KINGWELL
I LOVE the fabric combinations in all of these quilts. Scrap quilts can be tricky and these quilts use an amazing array of fabric colors and styles…it’s not easy!
I had the chance to talk to the delightful Jen Kingwell about her process. She said she’s really tried to come up with a formula or a process to offer students, but she just can’t. She said she’s not holding out on students, she just works intuitively.
I guess I’ll just start by collecting a huge array of fabric colors and styles…
TOMORROW:
More purchases, a few notions, trends, and of course, QUILTS!
PLAN
Wake up every day two hours earlier and quilt before anyone is awake…
Wonder how long that will last?
Lori

I like Elizabeth Hartman’s sewing. The simplicity of her patterns, her choice of fabric colors …are very stylish

I agree!

These are beautiful! It would be super to actually own one of these masterpieces just to look at it!

The Amish with a Twist quilt is the one I started with about three years ago. It’s on my bed right now. And I have one of Jen Kingwell’s patterns (Georgetown on My Mind) in my someday pile. My kids got it for me last year for my birthday. It’s gorgeous but pretty intimidating right now. Maybe another year of quilting experience and I’ll be ready!
Thanks for sharing your photos.

Well all I can say is you have great taste 🙂 Thanks for the photos. Soft Breeze is incredible. I want that Caroline book also ….and I think collecting fabric is a great idea, where did you ever come up with that one??? ROFLOL!!
As far as getting up early to quilt??? Good luck with that…hahahahaha. It’s a great plan but what always happens to me is I forget the time at night while I am working away and all of a sudden it’s past midnight. Not quite sure how that works, I think it has something to do with being excited about a project, or something like that. Now that it is light for so many hours here in the PNW I still wake up way to early. I am however still excited to work on those projects.
Keep those pics coming.
Thanks again.
Anne
Sure enjoying my morning coffee with you as always, but this is great with the show pics. Keep up the good work! hahaha and Enjoy your time with Sulky Threads! I am lovin’ your time there.

So happy for you and for us-I LOVE the quilts you are sharing with us. Scrap quilts are my passion and I’m even using uncivil war fabrics!!! Your pictures are urging me on.

My girl crush too. What a nice lady behind the beautiful quilts! What’s the Small World QAL? Details please!
carol g
She has a pattern in a special issue of quiltmania. I found my copy at Barnes & Noble. Search this instagram hashtag: #mysmallworldqal Here is the blog intro: http://verykerryberry.blogspot.com/p/my-small-world-qal.html
I’m really excited about it. I’m a bit intimidated by Jen’s patterns, but I feel like if I have this group encouragement, I’ll move along! I just found this YESTERDAY, so I’m a bit behind, although it JUST started. You know those over achievers, they are already working ahead! I thought I read the quilt was shown at Market, but I haven’t seen it in anyone’s photos. On a side note, Lori, I couldn’t do without your tutorials. I am slooowwly coming along with my FMQ, but I see progress every day! Thank you so much for all your hard work!

I think I saw the quilt and it was gorgeous but it was laying behind a table and I couldn’t get a good photo of it. I’m off to Barnes and Noble! I really don’t have time for a new project but since when did that ever stop any of us???

I am so enjoying looking at market through your eyes Lori. It seems I’m seeing things that I did not see walking the market floor 3 full days! Isn’t that amazing? Of course, we did have different items on our agenda, but still….thanks for the trip down memory lane.
