I’m also in love with Sulky, I’ve been doing free motion for many years but I don’t do it enough be more than a beginner.
Susan
I am definitely a beginner FMQ and I have never done machine applique. I have never used Rayon thread. Thanks for the chance to win this beautiful set of thread. Thanks also for all your wonderful tutorials.

My only attempt at free motion was a disaster, so a beginner. Applique, I can do in the dark with one hand tied behind my back. Okay, slight embellishment! But that I have been doing since I was 8 years old.

I’m a beginner in free motion, but machine applique I’ve been playing with for a while. Those beautiful threads make the stitches just pop! Sulky is a good strong thread making the stitching easy!

I am a beginner at machine appliqué, but an intermediate FMQer

I have been doing a bit of machine appliqué lately, but somehow in my head the thought is that you HAVE TO USE COTTON thread! I have been eyeing these beautiful Sulky Rayon threads and they are simply beautiful. I will be trying them out on my next project.
Thanks for the generous giveaway and for your inspiring blog also…..

Thank you so much for your inspiration and the give away. It is so much fun being an intermediate in everything – you can do everything and yet haven’t arrived, so you can still be learning everything.

I am definitely a beginner in both of these categories but I continue to do it, hoping that practice does make perfect! I too love those bright colors of thread and do use colors when i machine quilt.

I’m a beginner (with a little experience) at FMQ. I’m also a beginner at machine applique. Love your FMQ tutorials. Thanks for the chance to win.
Lisa Clark
Hi Lori, I am a beginner in both areas
kay
I would consider myself an intermediate at both FMQ and machine applique – but better at applique because I’ve had more practice. I would like to become a more confident FMQer.
pasack
I am a very beginner free motion quilter and intermediate to advanced in machine applique.
Mary

I’m a beginner quilter and have never tried FMQ. I’m really hoping to learn. I’ve also not done much appliqué, but what I have done has been using my Brother embroidery machine.

I am a beginner at free motion quilting. Trying to match the sewing speed with the fabric movement speed AND the of sewing design is a real challenge.
I a more of an intermediate at machine applique. I love sewing of any kind.
Jeanne Bliss
Did a lot of quilting and applique years ago and returned to all of it recently – have grandchildren now! I am amazed at how much the industry has changed! I’m intermediate in both areas, but have never used rayon thread – go figure! I’m drooling over this give-away. Thank you.
Jackie Clauson
I’m definitely a beginner in both. I tend to do my machine quilting with straight lines (which has worked so far) and any appliqué (and there’s not much) by hand. I know they both take practice, practice, practice and one of these days I plan to get there. Thanks for your great tutorials and the opportunity to win this fabulous prize!
Verna
I’d say I’m an advanced beginner at both and improving with each project.
Barb E
I would say I am a beginner at free motion quilting but just love it. I still have to learn where to use what pattern. I did your stars on a small border with same color thread and you don’t really see all the work. I am between a beginner an intermediate with machine applique. I do mostly hand applique work while watching TV with my hubby in the evening.
Barbara Moore
I am a beginner quilter. Just bought my first fat quarters to make my first small quilt. I do machine embroidery and have gotten fairly proficient at applique…intermediate, you might say. Just another grandma making things for her family.
Cathy Jones
I am a beginner at free motion, just got my sweet sixteen and cannot seem to get the tension right. Intermediate with applique, but still need more experience in learning different techniques. I enjoy it all, only been sewing since 2011 and learning new techniques all the time.

I am a beginner to free motion quilting, but learning more all the time. Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately!) I am not afraid to just jump in and try stuff…for me at least, I think it is the only way to learn. Regarding machine applique, I would rate myself an intermediate. I enjoy it and love the effect…especially the sheen that is obtained with the Sulky rayon theads!
Cathy
I have been doing machine appliqué for many years but am fairly new to machine quilting. I am looking forward to more practice!
Suzanne Beech
I am a beginner quilter though I am almost finished with my first ever quilt – a king size one. I am also new to free motion quilting and machine applique. I love quilting because I feel so relaxed and at peace at the sewing machine. Since I am new to quilting, I am also new to having collections of fabric and thread so I would love to win this giveaway!
Nancy

Rajean Yeske
I am definitely a beginner when it comes to free motion quilting. I have practiced on doll quilts. I have some lap quilt tops that i am going to be using your tutorials to learn by. As for machine applique, i would say intermediate to advanced. Sulky rayon thread has always been my choice. I also use it for my machine embroidery.
I would like to pass on a hint for all those colorful snips of thread we end up with. A small cute shaped bottle or a clear ornament looks great with a collection of all those shiny, colorful snips of thread!
Carolyn Rush
I am a beginner with both free motion quilting and machine applique.
Laurie Love
I just bought a new machine that is so much better for machine quilting! I’m practicing my way up to intermediate…..still a beginner at machine applique but my new machine has the stitches to do it and I’m anxious to give it a try.
Marj
I am a beginner at free motion quilting but have found your videos a great help. I am at an intermediate level for applique but also use Sulky Rayon for machine embroidery and love the quality of the finished product.

Hi Lori! For free motion quilting, I am a beginner to an intermediate. Only because I have done a few things and I do read a lot (like your blog) to educate myself. On machine applique I’d be a beginner, have barely touched it. But I certainly would like to do so. Getting all these wonderful threads would certainly be an incentive to jump in. Thanks for the chance.
Debbie Arrington
Thanks for the opportunity to win such a wonderful prize! I’m definitely a beginning free motion quilter, but I’m getting better, I’m an intermediate machine appliquer, but I love hand applique!
Lin M.
I am a very new beginner with free motion quilting; not too bad with machine applique. I love Sulky thread!

Hi Lori – I am a beginner all the way, and have been for years! I have now reached an exciting place in life as I prepare to retire and begin to immerse myself in life’s passions. This will involve moving to the next level in free motion quilting and machine applique. I’ve tried the Sulky Rayon thread and agree 100% – it is dreamy.
Rose Landon
