Doodle Simple Clover Leaves

May 7, 2020
Good Morning, Quilters and Doodlers!

Today we are going to doodle simple clover leaves to add to The White Clover motif we learned this week.

I LOVE everything about white clover. They remind me of summer days and I adore the sweet, fresh scent.  Apparently–YOU love White Clover too! This pretty posy received thousands of views.  Thank you to all who shared on Pinterest!   It’s a huge help when you hit the “Share of Facebook or Pinterest” link below each post!)

A Great Sketch/Doodle Notebook

Several readers have asked what sketchbook I recommend.  I have many doodle notebooks I love!  One of my favorites- is the Canson Mixed Media 7 x 10 inch notebook.

I like it because it is a nice size–not too big and not too small. In addition, the paper is heavy enough to allow light watercolor paint. I often doodle with Inktense watercolor pencils. A light touch of water elevates doodles into mini designs.

How to Doodle Simple Clover Leaves

Use watercolor pencils or your favorite pen to doodle simple rounded leaves.  I added two types of leaves to the White Clover motif.

The first is a cluster of three rounded petals. Begin with a large center petal then add a petal on each side.

Add a simple rounded leaf, by stitching (or doodling) a straight line, then stitch back over it, and add a rounded leaf around the overstitched line.

Make Your Own Postcards

Cut heavy weight paper into postcard size sheets.  Add a simple border then practice the White Clover and leaves on the notecards.

Who wouldn’t want to receive a handwritten note on a hand painted card?!!

Exciting News!

Be sure to tune in tomorrow when I have a HUGE announcement!

Hint: Book 3 is coming SOON!

What about YOU?

Do YOU have a favorite doodle notebook?

Have you tried watercolor pencils?

Do YOU love White Clover?

We’d LOVE to hear!

Delighted with Doodles,
