What a beautiful moment in time. Look at where they lived. The expression on the child’s face is priceless. “Hurry up Mom, can we play now?”
And that young girl could be my grand mother who was born in 1890!
I’ve always loved Mary Cassatt. Thank you for sharing this one.
My favorite artist! Thank you for sharing!
such a wonderful painting – one of my very favourite paintings is by Mary Cassatt called The Cup of Tea !
That sounds like my “cup of tea”! I’ll go google it. Thanks for sharing.
I am learning so much, thank-you. I had never heard of Mary Cassatt or indeed learned about any of the wonderful American impressionists until I joined your group. It might sound unpatriotic of me as an Australian praising a international artist on this our special day of the year ‘Australia Day Jan. 26th; but, how can I not comment on such beautiful and inspiring art. Thank-you for sharing with your global friends.
Happy Australia Day, Marilyn! and thanks for telling us about it. Wishing all of our Australian friends a happy day!
What a wonderful piece of art. I too have always love Mary Cassatt, I had not seen this piece. thank you.
I love Mary Cassatt’s work – thank you for sharing this one!
Mary Cassatt ~ love her works 🙂
This is one of my favorites.
Oh what a beautiful picture. I may have to visit that museum. We are thinking of a family vacation this summer and stopping there would be a great balance to a week of running from one sporting event to another with my family. Thanks for sharing.
Take lots of pictures if you go. So jealous!
Reminds me of my son who used to lay on me while I was at the sewing machine when he thought I wasn’t paying enough attention to him..
