Good Morning, Quilters!
Last week, I was most graciously welcomed by the Pine Tree Quilters. of Wausau, Wisconsin for a trunk show and two day machine quilting workshop.
The Pine Tree Quilters
The Pine Tree Quilters are a fun and talented group of quilters with a wide range of quilting expertise. Their guild emphasizes education and charity and they host small focus groups as well as large group challenge quilts.
Two Day Machine Quilting Workshop-All Skill Levels
More than 25 quilters attended the two day workshop!
Their experience with machine quilting varied from “first time ever” to more advanced.
We worked hard, but had a lot of fun! (And we had delicious lunches–thank you very much!)
Our workspace, in a nearby church, was huge and filled with natural light–always the best for quilting!
Two-Day Format
Having two days to quilt was a real luxury.
The first day was filled with stitching as well as information about machine set-up, thread, needles and more.
On the second day, the creative juices flowed!
We learned more motifs and tried several designs and compositional styles.
Students had time to explore their own ideas.
As you can see, the projects include a wide variety of motifs, thread, colors.
My Teaching Schedule
My teaching schedule is booked through 2020, unless your guild is within 150 miles of Stillwater, Minnesota. (Contact me at Lori@LoriKennedyQuilts.com for two-day workshop inquiries.)

I Learn Too!
With every class I teach, I LEARN more than I teach!
Coming soon–what I learned from this very talented group of quilters!

Lori … I loved your workshop, reading your blog and seeing all the wonderful photos … so inspiring. I felt intimidated at first but by the second day was able to relax and enjoy the process of learning and trying new things. You are a gifted teacher! Thank you for your encouragement, and all the skills, tools and tips you gave me/us. I’m looking forward to doodling more and seeing where it takes me. 🙂

I loved seeing all the samples, so much inspiration! I tried looking up Bernina University in Palm Springs, CA, 2020, but could not find anything???

Lori I love your site and all you do for us, but I must comment that today’s was very refreshing to see other quilters work. Where they are at and how it looks in the learning curve. Always look forward to your name in my mail box!
Thank you Lori!

Great workshop. Thank you for sharing all the wonderful quilt samples.
I echo other comments. How do we sign you up to teach in our guild? (Houston Area)

Hi Lori. We loved your class. I’ve been doodling and pondering the addition of quilting motifs in my current projects! You are an awesome teacher! I learned so much in just two days! (And my project is finished, bound, and hung!!!) 🙂

Aack! I missed hearing you were coming to central Wisconsin. I’m only an hour away and surely would have attended. Is there anyway to sign up for notifications of your workshops?

Peggy-the class filled with guild members and was not open to the public. Whenever there are openings I announce on the blog.

I would love to take a class with you Lori. Will you ever be teaching in Texas?

I was there in January! No plans for 2020–maybe at Quilt Market in Houston. I’ll keep you informed!

Those are wonderful! Thank you for all the pictures. They are inspiring – make me want to run to my machine and get to work.

Lori I have been doodling like crazy and keeping up my free motion skills. It is amazing to me that my quilting looks better than my doodles.
