Thank you for the wonderful quote this morning….Have a restful Friday!
The quote reminded me of something I am often heard saying: “When I am knitting, I want to be crocheting and when I am crocheting, I want to be knitting”.
If not this, then i want that syndrome.
Self diagnosis, naturally!!!

Good quote but boy did I get it wrong ——- I thought Lincoln was being critical about his beverage—– so bad, he couldn’t tell what it was………… I’m sure the other comments are on the mark. :>
Have a good cup of your favorite…Earl Grey or 100% Colombian.
Pat.
I’m sure if I’m drinking Earl Grey, I’ll wish it were the Colombian!?
Pat, you’re correct in your interpretation….it’s an old, old joke used by many long before Lincoln became famous and by many after.
Thanks for your insight. How did you become familiar with this quote and its history?
