While posted to the Netherlands, we visited Bruges and purchased a beautiful painting of their lacemakers, using all those spindles. I love the picture you shared today. Thank you.

Ohhhh so pretty. How sweet. Lace making is fun but you have to sit and focus. My mom loved making lace, but it never appealed to me bc of the sitttttting. I have so many beautiful treasures that my mom made.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful scene.

Lovely art,….and how I would love to sit and watch the workers make the lace…

Beautiful painting, but all of a sudden, the idea of lace making as a cottage industry has been swept away and perhaps some of the romance of imagining a piece of lace being worked upon within the home as a pass time by the women after they have finished their chores has gone. Nevertheless the work all lace makers create is exquisite.

Yo adoro el encaje hecho a mano, sé muy poquito de bolillos y siempre trato de aprender alguna puntada más. Me encantó la imagen Lory
