Silent Sunday October 13, 2013 Related 4 responses to “Silent Sunday” Teasel! In 7th grade science, the teacher offered extra credit if anyone could identify this plant. I tried; found some on the roadside; leafed through the 6 inch dictionary at my grandparent’s house; but no luck. No one figured it out, But, now I cannot forget it. The things we remember from our youth. Thanks so much for sharing that! I had no idea what that plant was, but I see it so often on the side of the road that I had to take a photo of it! I’m so glad you remembered it! As I understand it, teasel was imported and grown to be used for combing wool — now it has become an invasive weed. So many things that are imported become invasive weeds, as Mary noted … but so pretty anyway, especially as you have photographed it. Comments are closed.
