Thank you for posting about my favorite place on the Planet! I grew up going there and continue to visit.

Wow, that critter has to have been around a while to collect that many barnacles!

Maureen, exactly what I thought on seeing so many big barnacles… old grandpa? Amazing! Lived in FL for more than 40 years and always went to St Aug or Amelia Island.. have nice collection of sand dollars washed up from storms over the years. Lori, love the designs on this old fella. Looks like he lost a back leg, Did you get to keep him? Or was it “Leave the willdllife, Keep the photographs!”?

We live near Sanibel and visit often. You never know what the gulf will bring but it is always interesting.

Love eating blue crab 🦀 we were just back in Virginia for son’s wedding and bachelor party was blue crab plus salad. Don’t need more. Sons and now granddaughter are good crab pickers. ( granddaughter and I were b part of bachelor party – Covid correct of course!

We honeymooned at Sanibel 40 years ago and it has been a treasured place to go in the years since.
