    Lovely painting. As the wife of a photographer, I know why there are so many paintings of women sewing. It was the only time the painter could get a woman to sit still.

    I think this is my favorite so far. Considering the time it was painted, you know that women had to cherish any moment they could just sit still and be creative. It’s beautiful for so many reasons.
