Hi Lori: Just love your Saturday Seamstresses in fine art! They are so interesting to me! Just wanted to thank you for all your many tutorials and I really enjoy seeing you in AQ Mag and now on Craftsy!
Funny that the artist was inspired to paint a sewing girl in this setting, isn’t it? Or perhaps the young lady said she would sit for her portion of the piece, perhaps in his studio, if she could work on her sewing while he sketched?
Awesome view for sewing!
WOW. Sewing on a huge flat kitty.
This looks very peaceful. Nice colors
You have inspired me to look around at second hand stores and thrift shops for inexpensive sewing art and even some attractive needlework that I can hang in my sewing room. I had no idea that there was so much art covering sewing. You are such a great teacher to so many.
Let us know what you find!!
It’s totally amazing, colour, view, surroundings.
Ah, such peace!
Thank you
Lori, I don’t know where to leave you this message, but I just watched an amazing video by Heather Thomas about FMQ. I feel it has many good ideas that others reading this blog will benefit from. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnAriXmGjPA Here is the description: “Heather Thomas gives you a pep talk telling you that failure and ugly quilts are part of the process to mastering machine quilting. Then start practicing by taking a look at pages of designs with Heather. Hear how they are best used on an average quilt and feel free to pause the video to take a closer look.”
Heather is from the front range of Colorado. She moved to Portland about a year and a half ago and I have not seen anything by her since. She has some great lectures and workshops. If you have a chance to take any classes by her, you would learn a lot.
I like this picture as much as I do the one last week. It looks so fresh and bright. Kudos!
His handling of fabric is fascinating to me… and I suppose when you are out of polyester/acrylic you have to drag your “skin” around with you. lol The skins must have been treasured props of Godward’s. Thanks, Lori. You hit it out of the park again!
