I have not been up to my usual daily blogging schedule. Hope to be back next week! Thanks for asking!

This is my email experience too. Lori. you have the right to blog or not blog. If you never blog again, my life has been enriched beyond any expectations as far as quilting goes! Your life has had boo-koodles of personal events during 2018. Taking a break from anything done daily would be a psychological rest for anyone.
Actually I was thinking about this a few days ago. I realized that even tho my husband of 52 years is in favor of my quilting addiction, I need to give him more of my attention. The holidays with family showed me that. Being in our late 70’s now and each having health issues, we have no idea how long we may be around. I don’t want any regrets if I became a widow some day. I made a quilt for him for Christmas and he loves it. But more of my time with him is my 2019 goal. Love to you Lori!

I love your pictures. This one brings memories of my Grandmother.

One thing about it I am glad that my family name did not begin with Piss……….(shame on me!)! Is she knitting or repairing hose, or what while enjoying the pasture field?

LOL…I won’t say my last name but our 2 daughters suffered during high school when classmates pronounced our name a certain way! I was glad they acquired married last names. : )

Marta, Go snuggle under that quilt with your husband that you made!
        Sounds beautiful!

Hey Marta – in the early ’70’s I worked at a mailing house (“junk mail” producers back in the day) and I helped with the machine that printed out mailing labels. I remember one in particular that made me laugh out loud, the last name was Passwater! If that person ever had daughters I imagine it was a relief when his or her kids acquired married names as well!

Thank you very much for your gift of these pictures, what an inspiration. Appreciate your taking the time to find and post. Also it is interesting to read the additional information about the artist, reminds me of just how creative so many different people can be! ( and is a good motivator to turn around to my sewing too )

Our family is growing smaller by the month it seems, consequently (as Marta & her husband), we too have resolved to spend the time God gives us staying closer in touch. Our young cousin’s husband died of lung cancer in September & not having family nearby she moved from FL. to East TN where on the morning of October 10th. she was feeling “strange” & not able to drive called an ambulance for the trauma center. As she was being admitted she fainted & was taken to the OR where she was diagnosed with an Ascending Dissection of the heart. She came through the procedure well but while in recovery suffered a stroke & was immediately brain dead, she was 39 yro & loved life. As she had (God bless her) marked the box YES for organ donation it took some time to find all the recipients but there were so many healthy organs many, many people were finally able to have less pain, etc.
We family so missed her laughter during the holidays but have “soldered” on keeping her close in our thoughts, hearts, & prayers.

And Lori, please take some time for yourself, whatever makes you happy & content do it! You have so generously & unselfishly given of yourself to all of us; we want you around for a long while. As anyone who has been in a life challenging health situation can tell you; “If you do not take care of yourself you cannot help others.”

    Happy New Year everyone.

Amen, Barbara. We lost 6 family members and friends in 2018. Hurts
to lose the young ones we love and hurts to lose the older ones we loved so long. My MIL was age 91 when she died but they were able to use some of her skin for burn victims…She would have been thrilled to know she helped others.

Oh Barbara! So sorry for your losses! What a beautiful gift she gave others! You are in my prayers!
