Great idea to sit in the outdoors on a beautiful day. It probably pre-dated airconditioning and was very hot indoors.
Another beautiful impressionist style painting. The lights and shadows are exquisite.
Tranquility. I loved doing embroidery in the garden, that is where I was taught by mom and aunts in Cuba

I agree with Donna, what was the artists thought when he placed her outdoors, possibly for more light on her project? I can relate to that!
She must be desperate for “quietude” to perch on a rail by the hops field.
