    This painting strikes me as funny. There’s the swan flying so close to the girl but she goes on sewing anyway! I can relate to that!!! Lol!

    I think it is funny too–she is unperturbed by her bird. I guess she is resting while herding them because they are out in a field. This is so modern!

    After reading “more”, I am wondering whether this panting was full of symbolism in eyes/intentions of the painter. The sky, the steeple, the seamstress, the swan…must have been a private joke.! And sorry he died so young… his further work would have been very interesting too.
