Paddlewheeling down the St. Croix River

October 20, 2012

Another great way to take in the beautiful fall color is on a paddleboat cruise.  The St. Croix Boat and Packet Co. offers cruises on several different riverboats.

My personal favorite is The Empress which is a replica of an 1890’s paddlewheel riverboat -with stain glass windows and a decorative tin ceiling.

Even if you don’t go out on a cruise, you can still enjoy the beauty of the paddle wheels as these riverboats from a bygone era head down the St. Croix River.   I can just imagine them heading down the Mississippi right into a Mark Twain novel…

My sister took this cruise a couple of years ago to see the beautiful fall color. They had so much fun!

It’s so relaxing! I think fall is the best time to go…
