I’m a beginner in free motion quilting and machine embroidery but I would love to get better at both and do so with beautiful Aurifil thread–which would be fabulous.

  • should have said machine embroidery….Latest project is a peacock shirt. I took and old white shirt out of my closet that I haven’t worn for a while and am machine embroidering it with peacocks and lots of peacock feather designs…

  • I neither freemotion quilt or applique but I do lots of embroidery and love the Sulky Threads. Have collected several colors myself but there is always room for more…..I want to win!

  • I go way back with Sulky. I remember the days when Matielicks first came out. Thought I would go out of my mind. So happy they have improved no more breakage every few stitches.

Beginner in free motion and maybe intermediate in appliqué, both still scare me but I know I need to practice, practice, practice! Wonderful giveaway!

I am an intermediate quilter but a beginner appliquer. Actually, I haven’t done any applique. I quilt my own quilts but am still intermediate, but I’m practicing. Love the shiny sulky threads. Paddy

  • Barbara Korey

    Beginner gaining confidence—love Sulky!

  • Denise

After all this time, I should be at the intermediate level for free motion quilting, but alas, I’m still at beginner level. Machine applique and I do very well together so I would place myself somewhere between intermediate and advanced.

  • Kathy Reilly

I would consider myself a beginner at free motion quilting & an intermediate at appliqué. Practice, practice!

  • Robin

I’m a beginner with both, but I’m going to keep practicing to improve my skills!

I am definitely a beginner at free motion quilting. I’m not brave enough yet to waste thread. I’m intermediate at appliqué. I love doing it but am a perfectionist so won’t say I’m advanced.

  • I have never tried free motion or applique, but am looking forward to giving them a try. Most of my sewing is embroidery designs used to make wall quilts and rag quilts. I always use sulky thread, there are so many lovely colors to choose from.

  • I love Sulky thread, I have been collecting it for several years! I consider myself am intermediate free motion quilter. I continue to improve with practice. People tell me I underestimate my free motion ability. I look at other peoples work and I wish one day I could be as good as they are. I consider myself intermediate at machine applique. • Char Rayl

I think my free motion quilting has made it into the intermediate stage and machine applique is advanced. I started using Sulky embroidery thread for machine embroidery then started using it for machine applique and quilting. It’s my go-to thread for all my decorative sewing. My machine and I both love it!
