If you did those things…and reporting to the group was not mandatory….

Please give me a HIGH FIVE!!! in the comment section to enter a lottery to win the beautiful rose quilt!

WINNER WILL BE CHOSEN at 12:00 noon CST on May 10, 2016.

You can simply comment: “High Five”  or tell us what worked for YOU this week.

Rose quilt, Aurifil thread

THIS WEEK’S CHALLENGE:

Reassess your goals….

If you weren’t able to reach your goals last week, will you be able to change your schedule this week and try again?

Or do you need to make your goals a little more achievable and try again?

On the other hand, if you achieved your goals, you can either repeat them this week or add a goal.

Pink Gym Shoes

The most  important thing:  Make goals that are easily achievable!

Success leads to more success!

Let’s keep moving to keep quilting!

High Five! I’m using my Fitbit to be more mindful of my sedentary time. I made sure to not sit for long periods of time and ended up with about 15000 more steps for the week!

  • Barbara Beernink

High Five!! Did a 2 mile walk two days last week!

  • Peggy Jebavy

I walked over 8 miles on Mothers day

      Wow! That’s a long walk!

High Five! Spring is beautiful in TN. I’m enjoying all of the flowers and birds!

  • Linda

High five!!! Had more of a difficult week with back issues but I determined to move ahead. I ordered a new ” saddle chair” that hopefully will be of help in my posture and addressing a certain back issue I have had for several years. Either way I am determined to sew this week and even get a wedding gift started and completed. Let’s sew and be happy.

    High Five!!!!

High five! While my students were taking a test I walked around and around the room instead of sitting down. I came home from work with 8000 steps behind me ,usually I just have about 3000, so now to get the other 2000

      Great work! Way to adapt!

  • Terri

High five!! Hiking to get outdoors and get my 5000 steps a day. Sewing 30 minutes a day and when a good song comes along a little dancing in my sewing room to stretch out and help with the steps. Thanks for the kick in the butt!

High Five! Worked 10 hours in the yard on Saturday so I didn’t go for my walk. I’m betting I walked more than my goal as I cut, planted, trimmed and pulled weeds all day. Was exhausting, but seeing the fruits of my labor make it all worthwhile.

  • Maryann

    High Five.

  • Louise

I am at an average of 9381 steps for the last 7 day. I hit my goal of 8,000. Now to get it to 10,000. Really hard sitting behind a desk 2 days a week.

  • Jo Olinger

    High five! Definitely moving more.

  • Kathleen

High five! I did major cleaning (opening it up for the season) at my lake home so had no problem reaching my fit bit goals! Now to keep going!

  • Kimberly Mcneill

High five. Awareness is always the first step in change, isn’t it?

  • Judy Simmons.

High five. I love your newsletter. Thanks for your daily inspiration.

  • hi five and accomplished all of my goals for the week.

  • Colleen

Sending you a “High Five”! I find if I give myself weekly goals I achieve so much more! Maybe it’s goofy, but having a list that I can check off as I have achieved things makes life more fun and I’m less likely to forget things too! Here’s to moving onward! 🙂

  • Jo-Ann

    High Five!!! 58,000 steps and 24.5 miles…… I’m on my way….
    Thanks for the extra motivation.

  • Caroline

High Five! 3 miles of a run walk 4 days. Biking 3 days about 30 miles riding the biking trails in Florida with friends.

  • High Five!

  • RobynO

High Five! Moving more is so important. I feel better!

  • Karen

High five, I made my goal list, and I hit 10,000 steps on my Fitbit 3 times last week. The rest of the days I was at least at 7,000!!!

  • Joyce Carle

High five! Setting my goals for the week that are attainable but still a stretch!

  • Janice P.

High five! Amazing what a little competition can do! Thanks!

  • Rebecca Shaffer

High five! I met my goal of going to the gym three times, going to yoga class once and walking the other three days. I kept forgetting to record my sedentary time, but just being aware of it caused me to sit less and move more. Great challenge, Lori!

  • High five!!! For both me and my daughter–I set a timer every time we sat for a while, so once 30 minutes were up, we’d march down the hallway and around the bedrooms or dash outside and race around the house and the garden. In addition, we did lots more walking, I exceeded my step goals and did my ab workouts. Not only are we moving more, but we’re both having fun doing it!

  • Marilyn

    High Five. Walking more everyday.

  • Julie

    High Five!

  • K Yee

High Five! Given personal health circumstances, my goals this past week were very different than yours, but I did make and achieve goals. Thank you for doing this!

  • High Five, dear Lori 🙂 What a great (and important) challenge. You really got me started again to get out and enjoy the beauty of nature. 3 miles (once almost 4) a day, lots of gardening and even a swim! AND still plenty of time for sewing!!!!
Thanks for this fabulous idea and your wonderful blog posts 🙂 I really appreciate it 🙂

I came in 2nd last week in workweek warrior challenge! I moved my ironing pad from table to ironing board, so I have to get up every time I need to iron.
My goal for this week is to try and exercise at least 2 days this week.
    Good luck everyone!

  • High five! Your recent emphasis on getting up and moving has special meaning for me: last month I was hospitalized with pulmonary embolisms (blood clots in the lungs) that followed a month of inactivity as I struggled to recover from a very rough flu bug. My doctor wants me moving around more now, and you’re giving me a lot of encouragement to do so. Thanks!

  • Susan S

I did my 50 Mike ride on Saturday!

  • MartyAnne

High five Plus! I walked the neighbor’s dog an hour a day so we both got exercise plus I dug in my yard only three days because we had unexpected rain showers here in parched Northern California.

I love your site. I didn’t get any quilting practice this week because my house interior is being mudded, sanded and painted and I’ve wrapped up my machines to keep the dust out.

  • Sheila

    Lori, I am moving more.
    “HIGH FIVE”!!!!!!!!

  • Sue Martin in Minneapolis

    Hi Five !!!!!

  • High five , I am holidaying in France and one of my resolves has been NOT to have croissants every morning, they are so delicious, another to limit the amount of the delicious, various and inexpensive cheese here, rarely have desserts, and walk more, not so hard when there is so much to see and enjoy.

    High five!!

  • Sharon

High Five. Just got a new fitbit with a goal of 10,000 steps. My how much inactivity I didn’t realize I had in a day. Off to quilt.

  • Barbara

High five! I’m the turtle, getting started slowly but steadily. Cutting back on the calories while increasing the time in the garden. Now to add some more exercises besides yoga once a week.

  • Darcey

High five! Lots of hiking this week for me as I love to go geocaching.

    • WordPress.com Support

I’d like to hear more about geocaching!?

  • Joyce in NE

High Five! Knew I sit a lot but didn’t know it was THAT bad. Moving every chance I get.

  • Donna Nelson

HIGH FIVE!!! My goal was to put in 10,000 steps every day, and I did it! Since I retired last Friday, I’m hoping to keep this goal up, and loose some weight in the process. Hope you were successful with your goals.

  • Shari K.

    High Five!

  • Karen Rackliffe

High Five! Lots of gardening. Walking a lot on teaching days. Volunteered at a quilt show (HMQS) lifting quilts over my head for photos and walking through the displays and booths.

  • Didn’t get all the physical goals done during last week. BUT, we went camping over the weekend! Spent the weekend in Moab and got outdoors and around a lot. Now for the laundry….

  • Kathleen C

I stuck to my simple goals of tracking my sitting time (I want to do less of that this week), and I exercising more. I added some back exercises from the Mayo Clinic, and a yoga for beginners video. My daughter will check my postures with the yoga so that I get the most out of it. Thanks for getting me moving—this ‘challenge’ is what I need.

  • Ann Lamy

HIGH FIVE!!! Been learning new breathing exercise, joined the Y today & walked an Interval Routines for 30 minutes. VERY happy to be moving again and appreciative of your encouragement Miss Lori. ***smiles***

  • Brenda Perry
