Large spools (1422 yards) of 50wt thread is $8.40 and less than $7.00 per spool in some of the collections!
I use this thread for construction and in the bobbin for all of my machine quilting. (Craftsy does not offer the 28wt thread I love for the top thread when I am machine quilting.)

I use Kona and Boundless Solid Fabrics for all of my Tuesday Tutorials and whole cloth mini quilts.
Boundless is lighter weight than Kona, but has a nice assortment of colors.
Boundless is $4/yard and Kona Solids are $4.80/yard–the best price I have ever seen! (I did not see any Kona bundles as shown below–darn it!)
Marking ToolsI’m always in the market for new marking tools. My favorite is chalk because it is easy to see and easy to erase. I picked up a few variations of chalk markers as well as a few of the blue markers, The SewLine ceramic pencil and I couldn’t leave without a few new rulers (I’m a ruler hoarder!)
Okay, I bought a bunch of fabric collections too…(I’m in love with the Alison Glass fabrics and I found a Lily & Loom Work Zone collection with dump trucks…)

Wow love the sight of all your thread on display! But do you worry about the light on them and dust collections? Maybe it is just a problem in my house.
Yes. Dust is not good for thread (and my house has plenty) but I have decided to risk that because it is so much easier to find the perfect thread. I am pleased that the dust has been minimal. The thread is on a wall that gets less light but I understand it is not ideal.
Lori, to keep down on the dust I purchased a large chunk of clear plastic at Walmart. It’s the kind like you throw on top of a table outside. I used clothes pins to pin it to the top of the fabric racks and left it open at the bottom. All I have to do when I want a thread is lift it up. Being clear I can see exactly what’s there. This has worked for me. I hope you can use the tip.

Living in NM, we deal w/ a LOT of dust & sunshine. I’ve done the same as Bonnie, but went a step further & actually sewed the “box corners”, put some eyelets across the top edge & then tied them to the top edge of the racks. That allows the sides to fold & wrap the sides for better coverage. Takes a few minutes, but so worth it! To make it look nice & finished, you can put narrow binding all around & it will reinforce the plastic. Also, if you can find the UV type, it will help prevent your threads fading, while still being clear. A quilter friend hung hers on the wall behind the door to save space AND shield them from light.
That is a great idea! Did not know there was UV block vinyl.

Perfect timing Lori – the quilt is sandwiched ready for the off and currently doing the baby one – the idea is to quilt 2 every time I finish piecing one – that way the pile will shrink quicker! Thank you – I have 2 of your classes, but have just added the quilting plan to the set and that’s the one I actually need at the moment because trying to visualise the bigger picture is sometimes daunting for me. Only halfway through lesson one and I’ve already had that light bulb moment! LOL! My daughter has seen my big quilt being sandwiched and the little monkey has bagged it! Can’t mess that one up then!
