That is an easy one for me! My favorite is Sweet Sunshine because not only is it beautiful, but it is also “user friendly”. That little sailboat is a favorite too.

Wow Lori – it was great to see all your designs together!! It’s hard to choose but I like the Flower Power best. It’s easy to stitch and can cover a little space or use it as an allover design – versy versatile!! And congrats on the magazine article

How to pick just one from all those awesome tutorials? I love them all! But if I had to narrow it down, I would have to pick the Irish Chain. It works as a fantastic border, has a lot of interest, and looks very complex (although your instructions make it seem totally do-able!).

Hi, Lori! I love all of your designs, but I think my #1 favorite is Swirling Stars. I’ve used it a couple of times to great effect! Thank you so much for all of your tutorials. They have been inspirational.

I think they are all wonderful, but if I must choose I think the square flower is my favourite. It’s so versatile: either as a single piece in the centre of a block or as part of a border. It’s a winner.

Choosing ONE was the difficult part. But I thank you for the exercise of looking through them all. I wrote down my 10 favorites, some of which I’ve mastered, and the winner is The Wind. I use it alot because so much of my work is beach or nautical.

Lori, I agree with Mary M., I love all of your designs, but my favorite is The Perfect Pumpkin!! I used it a couple times last fall and hope to use it this coming fall again!! Thank you for all of the FMQ tutorials! I look forward to them every week!! =)

Lori! Amazing designs and so many to choose from. I found your blog in March so it was fun to go back further into your tutorials. My favs, maypop leaf, diamonds, grid play, flower power, squared flower, candy stripes, basic leaf, twisted rope, and quilted spool. I’m a longarm quilter, since 1996, and so appreciate a new infusion of designs for fillers, sashing, and borders. Congratulations on your AQS article. Here is to many more! Way too many favorites to narrow down. All your tutorials are so well laid out and easy (with practice) to replicate. I really like any of your spiral designs and then your leaf designs.

Hi Lori – I love all the free motion lessons as they have helped me step out of my comfort zone. I loved flower power and used my variation on my French Braid tree skirt I was so happy with the way it turned out. Thanks!

If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the holly leaf pattern – or maybe the basic leaf. It could also be the perfect pumpkin or the house sashing. Was this a trick question?

Good Morning! Like the others it’s a tough choice as your designs seem to always be so light hearted and fun. I vote for any of the flower designs. Maybe the individual flower designs can lead up to the Picket Fence or Windowsill Garden. After this winter I am so looking forward to seeing a garden of flowers. Good Luck!

Hello, Lori. My eyes always love a good swirl and a spiral, so my favorite today is the Wind. I’m making a neighborhood quilt for my daughter and this motif is begging to be used in the “sky” of the quilt.

Lori…I think for a column I like the double loop vine. For quilters who like feathers but lack confidence, I like motifs on a vine that they can do and move their skills forward to feathers when they have confidence. For me, personally, I love the wind motif…it’s very elegant. Love your blog. Thank you for doing it. Looking forward to your column.

Picking a favorite is hard! I really like “Flower Power” as a filler. For borders I love your tutorial for the “Twisted Rope.” This is a sashing design I have used numerous times while hand quilting and had not been able to figure out how to do it by machine without a lot of back stitching. You made it so easy.

Well, I adore all of your free motion motifs, many are so lovely on their own on a little corner or kona cotton fabric of any color. I love the ones that wander too
Those would be the Nikii’s puzzle, the tulip and figure 8 I have tried and that was fun, and especially the fabulous flower. Oh there are too many to pick just three. I love all of them, Lori. I think the flowerpot one you did recently is button cute.

This isn’t as difficult as choosing your favorite child 😉 but there are so many different fmq tutorials that I really love!
With spring finally making an appearance on a regular basis, I gravitate toward flowers (windowsill garden, square flower and variations) and (sweet) sunshine. But I think you can get quite a bit of free motion quilting “mileage” out of thread spools with variations, and with the sample quilt you made with the lettering.
