  • Lori, Your patriotic quilts are amazing. I would love to say that I will be able to do that someday, but just don’t have that confidence right now. My Bernina must go in for servicing as it has a timing issue, so Im now
getting used to FMQ on my featherweight. Very different feel and must go slower….but it makes a beautiful stitch. I’m not posting pics right now, but I am doing all the doodling and stitching! Thank you for all you do!

Your work is extraordinary, however, may I point out in the “map” of the U.S. you left out Alaska and Hawaii. Yes, I realize it would be a chore to put them on the project, and you certainly couldn’t add Alaska commensurate with it’s actual size because it is HUGE, approximately 1/5 the size of the entire lower 48. You could fit Texas in Alaska at least twice. Just thought I’d speak up for those of us up north…….

  • Such inspiration!!! Loving this great instruction and appreciating all your hints, tips, and extras like this post today!!

  • Anna Blake

    Wow!

  • Janet Tarasovic

Thanks to you, I can finally doodle (and occasionally even stitch) a circle! One small step at a time! Thanks for your generous sharing of your skills.

  • Lillian Krueger

I just received my book yesterday and will now begin the course!! You are an inspiration to all of us who are hesitant to try FMQ beyond the stipple. Thank you.

  • Barbara Daniel

I especially love the quilt with song lyrics on it. I love those old patriotic songs.

  • Wow! These are awesome! Now I want to doodle some of these and maybe try them in stitching! Happy 4th to you, too!

  • Janette

Thank you for all you do. God Bless

  • I’m very impressed by your Greek Keys, Lori. I’ve tried those, and they are difficult!

  • Karen

I just want to ECHO the words of Julia Parrino: You can only imagine how you have inspired so many folks. Thank You!!

  • Lovely quilts! You are such an inspiration! Thanks so much for sharing what you love to do!

  • Mary Jeanne Bruce

Your work is inspirational. Love my book, your daily e-mails, tutorials, etc., on FMQ. I am learning so much and having fun along the way. Doodle pads everywhere!
    Thank you so much!

Happy 4th of July everyone! Lori your quilts are so beautiful.
As our country turns another year older may we strive to make it more beautiful inside and out.

  • Beautiful designs.

Thank you for posting. I enjoy the comparisons of the two quilts, especially the USA one. Sometimes less is better and it is hard to know when to stop. Your tips have been most helpful and I am getting projects completed, improving my FMQ, and overcoming that “clinch” of anxiety that the quilting isn’t perfect. It is way more fun!

Love these USA quilts blocks! Lori, do you have an outline of the US we can use?

  • Lori, all these quilts are stunning! Thank you so much!!!

  • Julia Parrino

Your quilts are just beautiful and so appreciated on this Independence Day. I want to thank you so much for all your time and effort that you have put in to help all of us to be better free motion quilters. I’m sure it’s a monumental job to write the book , and then develop it into a series of classes for all of us, who are so eager to learn your techniques. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Have a great Independence Day.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
