Good Morning, Quilters!
I know winter is fast approaching, but this is what popped up in my sketchbook–Flowers!
Sometimes when I am doodling mindlessly a gem emerges…
This flower is simple to stitch and can be scaled much larger or quite small. Stitch it on red fabric to make a quick Christmas pillow or add it to any quilt to quickly fill the background.
THE EASY BREEZY FLOWER-MACHINE QUILTING TUTORIAL
Begin by stitching a curl. Echo stitch the curl.
Stitch a wavy line around the curl.
Echo stitch the wavy line.
Stitch another curl with echo stitching.
The trick here is to tuck the wavy line (petals) into the adjacent flower to create a cluster effect.
Because the flower is so free-form this is easy to do!
Easy….
Breezy!
Hope YOU will stitch this on YOUR next quilt!

I have a Christmas table topper/or/wall hanging sitting here waiting to be quilted. I had already decided to use the poinsettia shown in your header in some of the square blocks. I’ve even doodled four of them on paper and they don’t look half bad. I mean you can recognize them as flowers. But I just can’t get myself to the next step of actually quilting them onto fabric. But Christmas is coming so I must stop procrastinating.
