Doodle the Wind

June 23, 2016

Wind, Machine Quilting, Doodles

Good Morning, Quilters!

It’s a windy day here in Minnesota!

But the waves don’t stop the boaters out on our 10,000 lakes!

Let’s join the fun by doodling!

Wind, Machine Quilting, Doodles

Doodles:

The Wind

The Wave

perhaps YOU would like to add a Sailboat?

Wind, Machine Quilting, Doodles

I doodled large Waves and Wind and then added closely spaced filler…

Be sure to check out the tutorials–there are some “tricks” to stitching these gorgeous motifs!!

Wind, Machine Quilting, Doodles

I just had to splash it onto some fabric…

Love it!   (looks a little odd with the Snowman in the upper right corner-LOL)

I think we’re onto something…

What about YOU?

What’s on YOUR doodle pad today?  Anything worth trying to stitch?

How’s the weather in your parts?

We’d LOVE to hear!

Lori

Not much on my doodle pages lately, sad to say…I’m in Florida so it is another hot day today! Love the waves and wind doodle lessons, maybe add a few clouds and tear drops for rain. I will definitely be doodling this soon.

Doodling is a great beach activity–but is it too hot for the beach these days?

It’s a short leap to a “McTavishing” style background fill! Great movement and motif!!!!

It’s interesting because it’s an old motif-The Wind and The Wave–done a different way–larger and with additional fill.

I’ve been working on some Christmas in July projects for blog hops….it’s odd to be doing poinsettias in July, but that’s what I’ve been doodling and working on.

Think how proud you will be when you have all your Christmas projects finished before the rush!

Good Morning Lori & TRIBE !

Although it is very early in Knoxville, TN I’ve finished my power walk by the lake but even the lake looked listless this A. We’re in the throes of high 90’s temperatures making it difficult to do much.

I am in the midst of doodling funny clouds for a quilt for a little girl who needs comfort. I so love Sarah Jane’s fabric & hope Zoe will too.

    Stay cool everyone.

How long did it take you to stitch the green sample?

Fifteen minutes. Once you’ve doodled you can quilt pretty fast

Very hot here in Orlando Florida today. Working on a little jacket to go with a dress my 9 year old granddaughter designed. We made our own pattern for both. Just love working with her on projects she comes up with. Hope I’ll be able to get some practice on my long arm later

Amazing to have a nine year old designing!!

Do you do trunk shows for quilt guilds?

Yes–for guilds within driving distance of my home. I just sent you an email.
Thank you for being so patient–I thought I sent a note via Facebook Messenger earlier–apparently it evaporated into the WWW.
