Christmas Wreaths Tips

November 30, 2012

ChristmasWreath001

Last week the Boy Scouts delivered my wreaths right to my front porch.

ChristmasWreath016

As I have mentioned previously, I love the Boy Scouts and their wreaths…but their bows…Not So Much…

ChristmasWreath014

(If I were a Girl Scout, I would set up shop right next to the Boy Scouts and sell bows…of course, my motives wouldn’t be purely business…) but I digress….

So, I went to my ribbon stash…

ChristmasWreath013

And picked a ribbon that was bright and sparkly enough to be seen from a distance…and using the same method as I did for my fall wreath (see tutorial here),

I made this bow…

and attached it with wire to the wreath…

ChristmasWreath008

Before I shaped the bow…I flipped the wreath over…I don’t want the nasty wires on the back scratching my wood door…

ChristmasWreath005

So I cut up the Boy Scout bow and hot glued it to the back of the wreath…

ChristmasWreath003

Finally, with a little twisting and shaping, I was ready to hang my wreath…

Come on in…We’re baking cookies…

Great idea on keeping the wires from scratching the door. Finding a wreath is on my to-do list also!

We just received our boy scout wreath. I kept looking at it thinking “something is missing.” A better bow! Your post reminded me that last year, I inserted pretty ribbon throughout the wreath and it really jazzed it up a bit. Now, to the ribbon stash.

Great idea to insert a ribbon throughout!
