Candy Corn, Free Motion Quilting, LKennedyGood Morning, Candy Corn Lovers!

You know who you are! The ones who have already bought your Halloween candy because it’s on sale

Or to use as a decoration around the house…???

Today’s tutorial has zero (insidious) calories…Candy Corn, Free Motion Quilting, LKennedyTHE CANDY CORN FREE MOTION QUILT TUTORIAL

This motif would look adorable on any Halloween or Autumn quilt.  Use it as border, or jumble them up and create a background fill…

Begin by drawing two parallel lines.  In the tutorial below, the lines are 1-1/4 inches apart.  Much larger would look great…smaller might be a challenge to stitch.

Begin stitching on the bottom line.  Stitch up at an angle and create a curved point.  Stitch down from the top line 4-5 stitches.Candy Corn, Free Motion Quilting, LKennedyStitch a shallow curve to the left side of the Candy Corn, then stitch back.Candy Corn, Free Motion Quilting, LKennedyStitch down at an angle to create the right side of the Candy Corn, then stitch a shallow curve and back again.Candy Corn, Free Motion Quilting, LKennedyStitch down several more stitches, then stitch another shallow curve to create the bottom of the Candy Corn.  Stitch back to begin the next piece of candy in the chain.

Stitch a row of Candy Corn–altering the angle occasionally for a more interesting (and natural) look.
