I’ve seen that image dozens of times, and now I realize I never knew the name of it, only that it was by Winslow Homer. Thanks Lori! Now I know.

My son introduced me to Winslow Homer when he was assigned a seat in 1st grade art class. The seat was identified with Homer’s name and one of his paintings. I took him to Boston to see the painting in person at the Museum of Fine Arts. “The Fog Warning” He’s 42 but we both remember Homer and love art.

So dynamic! Makes me want to go sailing. Thank you

This is the first Homer artwork (of several) that I purchased during my college summer internship & has moved with relocations & still proudly hangs in my sewing studio during retirement. It reminds me of my sailing as a child.
