Good Morning, Quilters!
Welcome to Day 4 of our online quilt show! I’m so excited…we have a great show today…but first a few thoughts.
More than 30 quilters participated in our first ever, Inbox Quilt Show–Thank YOU to all the quilters who participated! –
We’ve had more than 15,000 views in the first 3 days-! Woo hoo! Thank YOU for all who “attended”…
See Day One HERE Day Two HERE Day Three HERE
WE ALL HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE
I’m not sure, but I bet 15,000 people didn’t attend the first AQS show?!
I’m just saying….
YOUR QUILTS
As you know, I’m always saying “this motif would work on any quilt from Modern to Traditional…” The quilts in our show prove it–we have seen every quilt style in our show–and seeing is so much better than saying!
The other thing that delights me about these quilts is how YOU have taken the Tuesday Tutorials and made them YOUR own to personalize YOUR quilts! Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!
Enough babbling, the quilts are rolling in as we speak…
THE INBOX QUILT SHOW
Gayle Kush stitched this as a challenge-for a group of art quilters. She used Dots and Dashes to repeat the geometric appliqué and hand embroidery-suits this quilt perfectly. Look how many different techniques used in this quilt…beading, appliqué, embroidery, machine quilting…Love this quilt, Gayle!
Mary Grass stitched this fabulous Butterfly quilt… It looks like it was entered into another quilt show–Best of Show, Mary? Beautiful! How is this done? Is there a pattern? Tell us more!
Anita Hahn made this adorable quilt for her granddaughter’s baptism. The quilting is absolutely lovely! What a lucky baby!
Laura Parson was busy with the Quilt-a-longs:
I love how you personalized these, Laura!
Michele Leonard has been very busy quilting this year. The Celtic Knot Medallion Quilt was made as a wedding present for her son and daughter-in-law. I love the medallion quilt, but my favorite pattern of all time — the Log Cabin…Great job, Michele! Love your quilts and your quilting!
Judy Fiest used a variety of motifs on this beautiful Autumn quilt…I see Oak Leaves, and Pumpkins, and Open Leaf with Spiral, and Ribbon Candy…a motif sampler!
Amy Roth
Amy made this quilt for her cousin’s daughter, Ally’s graduation. Ally wanted a tree quilt with a kitty, a quilt and a book under the tree…( A quilt on a quilt…great concept!)
Amy did a great job personalizing the quilt with music fabric and map fabrics symbolizing Ally’s future travels!
Way to go, Amy! And Congratulations, Ally!
Barb Ellis
We saw the close-ups of Barb’s quilt last week…today, the whole quilt! Barb’s quilt is from a pattern from Angie’s Attic and is done in wool felt –(Barb is in a quilt group that specializes in wool quilts.) Thanks, Barb!
Michele Lynch
Here’s Michele’s description:
I quilted this vintage double wedding ring using rose design for the background spaces and continuous curves for the ring wedges. Although I use a long arm rather than a domestic machine, I have found your classes on Craftsy and your tutorial quite helpful.
Thanks for the Craftsy endorsement, Michele!
Your quilting is beautiful!—and who is that handsome helper of yours?
Kathi Alderink creates modern heirlooms for her family and for sale in her Etsy shop: www.mylittlepeeps.etsy.com
Adorable! Love the backdrop too!
Mary Heard from South Australia stitched our quilt-a-long sampler. She calls it “Seaside Quilt”. I love the quilt and the binding!
Veronica Gerhardt, Danbury, CT
Here’s what Veronica has to say about The Inbox Jaunt:
…just “discovered” you on your blog. I have been machine quilting for a long time, taught it for about 15 years. I always look for new and fresh ideas.
I hit the jackpot when I found you. Your designs are wonderful, your instructions are the best I have ever seen.
I signed up for your class on Craftsy.
Thank you, Roni! Can’t wait to see more of your Watermelon Quilt!

Just lovely! I enjoyed it thoroughly! I am honored to be included in your show. I would have included more detailed pictures if I’d known we could. I was just showing a small sample. I love your blog and both your classes and love the inspiration you give me. You are a treasure to the FMQers. I’ve gained more from your blog and classes than any other quilt blogger online. Thank you for sharing so freely. I just LOVE you.

Thanks for doing this. I feel honored to have my quilt shown on this blog. I have been collecting your tutorials from the AQ magazine since they have been featured there. A friend told me about your blog and I am so glad I decided to check it out. Tons of info on here and I can’t wait for your book to come out.

Thank you for offering these posts. It’s wonderful to see what other quilters are creating. It’s fun to attend a quilt show in my living room.

Lori – thanks for posting the quilt show. It’s been fun and inspiring to see how other quilters use FMQ in their work. Thanks for the opportunity to get a glimpse into the talent and creativity of fellow quilters. As always, I love your blog and look forward to checking in each day.

What a fun idea! I recently found this blog on facebook-then found your classes on Craftsy and purchased both!!! I have taken many other FMQ classes and followed several other people who specialize in this form of quilting and find your technique is helping me achieve so much more success-and more efficiently! Thanks so much Lori!!!

I just love to hear that! Please consider writing a review on Craftsy–it really helps!
Mary
Lori, you have created a”quilt” of people. All joined by your teaching, support, encouragement, exercise, and sharing!
Patient encouragement to doodle, stitch, practice, is your mantra.
Thanks for your continued ideas. I Look forward to the next challenge, mystery quilt, or large quilt planning, or ?
Perhaps you have a comment on straight line quilting with rulers…
Thanks again.
Lori Kennedy
Mary, Thank you for your kind words. I have never thought of our little club as a “people quilt” but I like that imagery! As far as quilting with rulers…BERNINA is coming out with a ruler foot and rulers in October or November–I plan to join the fun and give them a whirl…stay tuned!
Rebecca Shaffer
Beautiful quilts once again! It has been fun to see how everyone is using the motifs in their quilts. And thanks, Lori, for this fabulous quilt show. What a great idea! I am thankful everyday that I found your blog. It has really motivated me to focus and practice every day. FMQ is fun now, instead of a frustrating chore.

And I can’t wait to stitch at the Folk School wth you!
