Mother's Day

Mother's DayGood Morning, Quilters!

I’m back in my sewing studio and excited to be blogging again!

Thank you to all of you–for your patience and kind words of support and condolence.  My Mom, Dorothy Crawley passed away last month surrounded by her family.  While her memory failed her, her sense of humor, kind nature and love of family never did!  I will always be grateful for the time we spent together and I take solace in knowing she lives on in her 7 children, 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren!

Dorothy

My Mom always put faith and family first.  She loved to cook, (I’m pretty sure she liked to clean!?), sew, read, play cards, bowl and go for long car rides.  She was known for her lasagna, kolachky, hand-written letters and Christmas cards and for her quilts.   One of the most remarkable things about her was that she never said an unkind word about anyone–ever!

We are planning to make a group quilt using the Rose and Dot block to donate to the Alzheimer’s Association. I hope YOU will make a block in her honor or for one of YOUR friends or family.  Details to follow…

I think my sister summed it up best, quoting Mother Teresa…

Dorothy did small things with great LOVE.

Teacups and Love

May YOU always find JOY in the small things!
