Today is your lucky day! On newsstands now the September edition of American Quilter Magazine and it’s loaded with lots of good stuff.
In addition to “My Line with Lori Kennedy”–5 pages of free motion quilting, there’s a great article about Freddy Moran–the very colorful, Freddy Moran–that you won’t want to miss.
(In an upcoming post, I’ll show you my Freddy Moran inspired quilt–it’s over 10 years old and still much-loved!
Last time we had winners from all over the world…a little “quilting-ambassadorship”…
This month, winners must be from the US or Canada…
Please leave a comment…
What are your favorite motifs?… OR
What motifs would YOU like to see in free motion quilting?
I will choose three winners at random. Winners announced on Monday, September 1.
Good Luck,
Lori

I would love to see hummingbirds, dogwood tree leaves and just whatever you come up with ~ it seems I like all your motifs! Thank you for sharing!

I’m fairly new to quilting and just got a wonderful new machine that I can’t wait to try some of you ideas on! I love your spools and I have to learn how to do dragonflies for my entomologist daughter!

I like to use feathers whenever I can. I try something different somewhere on each quilt. FMQ is my favorite part of quilting.

I always have a very hard time with feathers. I start off okay on the one side but coming back down on the other – they never look the same. Would love to see simple instructions on how to get both to look the same. Congrats on this article – will look for it at my newsstand.

I love all your motifs but my favorite is the double heart – easy to do and looks so good on a small border

I’d love to see hummingbirds!

I love swirls, so a motif that begins in a swirl and goes fabulous from there, or an already great design that becomes fabulous when swirls are added here and there…yep, those would be my favorites.

It has to be feathers of any kind and combination

I really like your patriotic motifs. I showed them to my husband who was in the Navy and could tell he would like a quilt with them as the quilting.

I really like doing a floralish motif. Thanks!

I don’t know as I have a favorite motif. I love seeing what you come up with every week. I’m just waiting for you to come out with a book so I’ll have everything in one place and being able to look at over and over.

Hi – My favorite motif is the dragonfly – simply done – but recognizable. Thanks for all that you give us – and the chance to win. I, too, have a Freddy Moran quilt –
She really changed my way to use color –
