  • Anything floral or leaves!

  • Darlene

Oh count me in this one, would love to get a copy of this publication. My favorite motif is flowers, I also like pumpkin motifs and script or quilted words.

  • Gerry Casper

It’s hard to choose. I love them, ALL! Though, I would like to see something in a larger scale, not so closely quilted. Your blog is the first thing I check every morning…. and, I’m from Minnesota, too! 🙂

  • Chris

It would be wonderful to see CATS…in numerous positions…sitting, curled up sleeping, hunched back, etc. I must say, I have lots of quilt tops to sandwich and quilt. So, I am tempted to just get them done and out of the way. Then, I’d love to practice your techniques on a small scale and catalog them for easy reference.

  • Vickie

I love spirals! They always add movement and happiness to a quilt. Love your tutorials, Lori!

  • Shirley McIntyre

I can’t pick just one or three! I love them all and would love,to learn all the motifs, I know I probably will never reach the status of expert, but I sure have fun trying !

  • Debbie Culler

I like the open leaf with spiral. It just speaks to me!

  • Judith

I would like to see Fleur de Lis motifs.
I would also like to see flowers of the Bible motifs… such as Lily of the Valley and Rose of Sharon.
I would also like to see Dogwood blossoms and leaves.

Thank you for all the work you do to share your knowledge with us.

  • Donna

My favorite is your spool of thread motif. It’s easy enough for a beginner like me, and is great for gifts for quilting friends! I would like to see more sewing motifs! maybe a pin cushion or a needle and thread. :c)

  • J’aime beaucoup tout ce que vous faites, en septembre je vais placer mon ordi près de ma machine pour pratiquer. Je conserve tous vos mails.
Merci de partager avec nous. Bonne fin de semaine.

Lori, I enjoy every one of your motifs, but I would love to be proficient in feathers and swirls. Are feathers old fashioned? If they are, then I am, too. I wish I could make quilts fast enough to use all your motifs

  • I think I have a favorite and then you come out with a new one

  • Vera Zanon

Thanks a lote for your free tutorials. God bless you.

  • Cathy Jarrett

Lori, thanks for the giveaway. I discovered your blog a few months ago and have been enjoying your tutorials showing steps in developing your motifs. I like any motif with florals. Cathy

  • Debby Leonard

My fav is the Dizzy Daisy! Can’t wait to try it.

  • Barb E

I have loved all your motifs but have been trying to figure out how to do a football. I tried to copy how you did the baseball but it just looked funny.

  • kaholly

So far, all of your motifs have become favorites!! I’m having a blast learning by doing from your site.

  • Suzanne Beech

Love the most recent flower swirls. If only I could fmq properly. Not having a lot of luck with stitch length and shifting my quilt. Thanks for the giveaway!

  • I am enjoying all of your motifs .you make it seem so simple, but most of all i like it that you tell us how to mark of the quilting area so it gives me a guide line in how to start it off.Haven’t had a chance to try any yet as i have a cast on my foot that will need a few week yet to come of.

  • I love feathers combined with pebbles. I agree with Joan and would love to see all your designs in a spiral bound book! Thanks for the chance to win!

  • Just learning so love everything you do

  • Sheila

My favorite FMQ motifs are leaves and vines; they’re so organic, that even the little wobbles and glitches don’t look out of place, and the overall texture is so pretty.

  • Susan P

Feather’s are my favorite, but would like to see something with veggies. You never cease to amaze so I’m sure you could produce something wonderful!

  • Maggie

My favourite is the maple leaf. I’m sure it is because I am a Canadian. I love your tutorials. I am learning a lot about machine quilting. Thank you.

  • sharon

Feathers, feathers, and more feathers!! They are my biggest challenge.

  • nhwolfe

I don’t have a favorite yet because I am still new to FMQ and have SO MUCH to learn!

  • sillyandrea

My favourite motifs are organic – leaves, flowers and… FEATHERS. 😀

  • Tracy Barta

Love the “wind” that I found for a baby quilt in sail-boat themes. It made great “waves”, and was so easy to learn. Thanks SO much.

  • Marianne

I love the daisy motif you recently showed us. Thanks so much for the inspiration!

  • Joellyn Partyka

I quilt a lot of charity quilt for my guild and I’m always looking for motifs to quilt children’s quilts. I love every motif you do though great ideas. Keep them coming and Thank you!

  • Joni Keskey

    Birds

  • Jeanette

Everything you do pushes me to think of FMQing in a new way. This is my fear….. the quilt looks beautiful and then I think “now I’m going to screw it up by FMQ” so I now have 2 quilts not quilted!!! I love the double hearts and am going to put them on the border of the baby quilt I have to do. Yes, I’m listening to you about journaling!! I guess what I would like to see is how people put letters into their quilts by FMQ. Some people do not use trunpunto (probably spelled wrong, sorry) they just use smaller stitching, I think.

  • Helen Bowie

Congrats on your article in a wonderful magazine! Too talented to be hidden. My favorite motif I think is feathers. I am fascinated with them. I could watch the tutorials over and over again. But I would love to know how to do an all over larger motif sort of like the ones that the long arm quilters put on the quilts when one sends them off to get quilted. Thanks.

  • I really enjoy all your motifs … I aspire to be able to master a few of them … SOMEDAY… I would love to know if you have a blog post that teaches beginning free motion quilters which designs are easier to master. I know … Practice, practice, practice … But an having trouble with what to start with.

  • Jeanne

Feathers are definitely my fave but I a enjoying your tutorials to banish stippling immensely. I too, dislike stippling!!

  • Maryanne Wilson

Love the lovely flower you showed recently
Is there any way a fleur de lie could be accomplished in your style??? I’m sure I’m not alone in liking this French symbol

  • Flowers! Any and all, I just love them. Love the way you do your daisy’s. Thanks for the fun giveaway.

  • Laura

I loved the feathered leaf design, and I was able to use it in the border of a customer’s quilt. Just what I needed!

Thanks for all the designs and inspiration. A go-to site when I can’t decide what to do on a quilt.

  • I love anything beachy so my request would be shells, sailboats, beach critters, etc. Thanks for all you do!!

  • Jody Bitzel

I love elements of the quilt used as the quilting pattern, like an “I spy” hidden in the background.

  • I like modern, simple motifs……

  • Just getting started and love all the designs

  • Suzanne

I try to embrace all the motifs. I tend to like the more organic shapes like leaves and feathers verses boats and boxes, but they are still fun to do and have their place on different projects. I’d like to see some bird motifs since they seem to be so popular in quilt fabrics and projects now. Any ideas?

  • Vicki

Loved your recent Dizzy Daisy design. So fun!!
Would love to see some fish ideas to go with your wave motifs.

  • It is so difficult to pick just one. Your method is so easy to follow! I do love leaves and feathers

  • Ellen M.

My favorite motif is (I think) called pebbles. I haven’t tackled FMQ yet but hope to give it a try. Thanks!

  • Nancy R

I find doing leaves the easiest free motion motif for me. But I like to push myself and try a different one each time. I like feathers but sometimes feel that they are overdone.

  • Melissa Lamb

I would like to see more fill pattern ideas for around applique blocks. Also ideas for sashing and borders when the customer uses multiples in different colors.
I appreciate all your free tutorials! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so generous and creative. I’ve learned a great deal from your web site.

  • Oh my goodness your such a generous gal. My very favourite motifs are feathers of all sizes. I also love circles. I am not great at any as yet put I am doing more practicing. Since I found your site you sure have made it easier to get motivated.

  • I love swirls and pebbles!! But man, those pebbles give your arms a workout!
