I started doodling the alphabet…
Pretty soon it turned into Chicka Chicka Boom Boom–Does anyone remember this children’s book–it was a favorite at our house!
This little doodle needs a bit more work—before it could be a tutorial, but I think it could be a fabulous fill pattern…

Feathers are gorgeous,j but I think your free motion motifs make a quilt more interesting. I can pick one or several designs that will coordinate with my quilt and it turns out great.

I want/need to practice some of your ideas. Is a 12″ square big enough to start with and get a good feel for the design?
Hi Barb, 12 inch is the minimum I would do. I like to use a fat quarter–otherwise you a stitching off the fabric too soon. Also, it gives enough space to stitch a motif in several sizes.

Hi Lori! Feathers were number one really!! I like your stuff soooo much better than feathers…they are so over used…but that’s just my opinion. 🙂 Kind of right up there with stippling for me…haha! OH…and you spelled my name wrong for the mag. winner. (heehee) JK…congrats to the winners.
Glad you reminded me about the doodle book…going to grab mine quick…my turn to spend the day and night at the hospital with Mom…she had her other knee done. I have burp rags to crochet edges on and will have plenty of time to doodle too!! yay! I love doodling. 🙂
