1. Beautiful snowman motif! Do you paint too? Seems your talents in the arts are wide spread,
   I am starting to quilt on a hankie quilt for a friend. I’ve never done one before. The hankies were her mother’s and they are gorgeous, so delicate and pieces of art! I do have a plan for each one and then I will do a custom meander in the sashing. Nervous to start !

2. Sometime back Lori you mentioned your favorite fabric glue. Can u tell me the name again?

   1. Cindy…I was out of town or I would have responded earlier. I just got through using Select Fabric Glue Stick from QuiltersSelect.com on
      some really wonky Xmas panels and the glue held for the week I was
      gone. Then used it when I placed them before sewing and it even let me reposition the panels and re-glue. I love this fabric glue. It’s also called “by Floriani with Alex Anderson”…I have one of her books!

3. Love those snowmen! I’m working on a few projects, including one with a monthly deadline for 10 months. It’s a row by row quilt exchange in my guild and I’m the “weak link” in the chain of 9 other incredibly gifted quilters. One of them has had a quilt in the Houston show! Another has had hers in magazines. Each month I have to come up with an idea for the next member’s row theme and finish my row to add. Yikes! The wonderful news is that everyone has been so supportive and encouraging, so I’m enjoying the experience.

4. Will there be a Snowlady and Snowchildren in your new venture? Looks fun so far!
   Or is it finished? I’d love to see a Snowkid on a sled ! : ) I am working on a panel of Penguins for young grandson for Christmas. Trouble deciding what to FMQ on the borders.

5. Sort of yes and no on the plan. I need to have a general idea in mind, and practice before I start quilting. Too often I’ve flown by the seat of my pants and the quilting doesn’t look like I want it. And it is a hassle to take out stitches, especially on a longarm. But I do LOVE free motion quilting because it can change and adapt as you move through a quilt. I did a quilt for my son with a big anchor/star motif in the center (here’s a pic, sorry, I’m pretty proud of this one! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10157763283278438&set=pb.650873437.-2207520000.1544195613.&type=3&theater) but I just couldn’t figure out how to handle the center part. So I did the other parts and eventually it came to me. I also use a big piece of vinyl to try out ideas. I lay the vinyl and use a dry erase marker to test out designs. I’m a very visual person and this helps me a great deal. But be sure to TAPE THE EDGES of the vinyl. If you draw off the edge onto fabric, dry erase maker doesn’t wash out well. So, after all that, I guess, yeah, I need a plan! 🙂 Thanks, Lori, for all of your ideas and inspiration and thoughtful questions!

7. H-h-h-m-m-m-m, do I have a work in progress? Really? I don’t know anyone in my circle who only ever has one going at a time. ; – } I have 4 going currently. I just can’t seem to do one at a time – quilting is too much fun. I tend not to start stitching without a plan but I do vacillate a lot about pattern before beginning to FMQ.

   I ALWAYS have a deadline! I have two quilt projects to finish before Christmas, plus I’m replacing the elastic on a friend’s bathing suit and it needs to be done before Dec 18 when she leaves for a vacation. Yikes!! I must be nuts.

   Your snowman is beautiful and very clever!

8. Have to agree ,never have just one project going .Working on a quilt for my Mom , would like to have it finished for Xmas but it’s not a have too! Just finished a jellyroll rug, just love the way it came out . Have a couple table runners on the go, just need to sandwich them and quilt. Sometimes it takes me awhile to decide what to quilt. Have to look at it and flip through your books for motifs. So l guess l need a plan and more experience.
   Your snowmen are so cute, would like to see the quilt when your finished!
   This has been a most pleasant journey, buying a new machine, finding the in box jaunt, and actually finishing quilts. Thank you so much for everything you do and share with all of us.

9. I love your snowman pattern! I’m 64 years of age, married, the mother of 8 kids, all now grown, from my deceased husbands, the step-mom of 10 kids, all now grown, from my husband’s deceased wives, with 35 grandkids, 2 more on the way around April 2019, and 1 great-grandchild. I haven’t attempted to make a quilt in over 30 years because, thanks to kids, I had no money until now. My husband bought me a new computerized sewing/quilting machine (Brother Laura Ashley Limited Edition) for Christmas 2018. As soon as we can figure out where to put my new sewing machine, I’m going to attempt making a lap strip machine quilt kit with pre-cut pieces that arrived here a few days ago from The Missouri Star Quilt Company. (Gulp!!! I’m scared that I’ll majorly mess it up!) I just ordered your book for beginners so I’m hoping that your book will ease some of my fears. Wish me luck!!!
