A Free Motion Quilting Challenge

February 20, 2014

Free Motion Quilting, flowers, PuzzlesToday I have a little free motion design challenge for you:   Try morphing any two patterns from the Tuesday Tutorials.   I’ve morphed Nikki’s Puzzle with Flower Power.

This is a great design technique when you are quilting and want to transition from one pattern to another.  Instead of a sharp line between the two patterns, morph from one to the other.

For today’s challenge, try morphing any two designs, then link up below.  This can be stitched or just sketched in your notebook.  We’d love to see your new design!

This is my first time using InLinkz-so I have my own challenge…you can link to your blog or to Flickr…not sure about Facebook–anybody know??

Can’t wait to see!

Lori

Wow, it would never have occurred to me to mix those two, and if I had I would have thought it wouldn’t work.

But it does! Looks really cool.

I really like patterns that mix up two or more… it makes everything more interesting and original (though sometimes a lot more difficult – at least for me). I made my daughter’s wedding dress almost 5 years ago, and I used different patterns to make it just the way she liked it. It was scary but so much fun! I rarely do anything exactly like the pattern. I guess it’s just fun use our creativity to make each pattern our very own.

You are much braver than I am–making a wedding dress! It is fun to ask “What IF?”

Challenge accepted!! LOL! It’s going to have to wait…I’m packing up the FL house and it will have to wait til I’m back home in WY on Mon. It’s supposed to be a whopping 16 degrees…heat wave they said..haha! Hope I don’t frost bite my sunburn! Heading to Daytona 500 this weekend first!! Row five right at the finish line!!! I’ll wave at you if you’ll be watching. It’s threatening rain that day…uh oh! LOL!
