Good Morning, Quilters!
Today we are going to learn how to quilt the White Clover motif!
Nothing reminds me of summer more than these little white flowers sprinkled through the lawn. They smell so sweet!
And I LOVE clover honey! (Read more at Hobby Farms: White Clover, Edible and Abundant)
It’s time to elevate this humble flower to quilt-worthy status.
How to Quilt the White Clover Motif
Begin by stitching the letter “C”. Start at the bottom and curve to the top.
Add a small rounded curl on top, ending on the left side of the letter C.
Stitch a curve from left to right.
Stitch back to the left and repeat several times to fill the C.
Stitch from left to right and continue the line of stitching around the entire shape.
Add two small leaves beneath the clover flower.
Stitch several stitches to create a vine.
To create leaves to add to the vine, stitch three loops. (We will doodle these on Thursday–stay tuned.)
Continue along, adding white clover flowers and leaves to create a vine border.
Sweet!
And sweetly scented too!
But don’t get stung…
Bees LOVE white clover!

Happy Stitching,

Love this design. I have your two books and 1 dvd. Your designs are lovely and not hard to execute with a little practice. Since most of my quilting is for charity quilts, I am looking for allover designs that can be completely quickly. Do you have any of this type to share?

One of my favorites is Flower Power. It’s an easy motif and a fast fill. It can be stitched very large or quite small. It’s the only motif in both of my books.

Thanks so much, Lori. I’ll look it up.

Amazing as always! Learning to free motion quilt is definitely on my bucket list and now that I have a Bernina with a stitch regulator, I am hoping this feature will facilitate the process. Aside from stippling, would you kindly recommend a couple of free motion patterns for a beginner? Thank you!
