I took a break from my bigger projects to work on a summer-themed project this week.
Don’t you love popsicles in the summer?
For this little pillow, I cut out the simple shapes and tacked them down with a little glue. I layered the fabric on a piece of light-weight batting before zig-zag stitching around the raw edges. This is a very informal way to appliqué. I use it for experimental pieces and for quick, casual projects.
Once the pieces were appliquéd, I did a little free motion quilting to complete the pillow top. (See The Circle free motion quilting tutorial HERE)
I will finish this pillow with piping and a simple quilted back…
Sweet dreams! (or sweet Dreamsicles!)
Lori
