Good Morning, Quilters!
Thank YOU all for your hilarious mouse stories and for helping me name my little, free motion quilted mouse. I’m thinking of calling her Squilt. What do you think? And maybe we could name her companion Squee. Squee and Squilt? Maybe it’s time to write a children’s book? LOL
MAYBE I SHOULD STAY FOCUSED!!!
Behind the Scenes
As you may have noticed, after more than six years of nearly daily blogging, I have been a very inconsistent blogger lately.
In my family, we have a saying…
“Don’t tell me how hard you’re working, just show me the results!”
It’s kind of a joke, but I’ve been reluctant to tell you that while I’ve been absent from blogging, behind the scenes Faye, Nora and I have been hard at work!
I still don’t have much to show, but at least I can tell you about our two huge projects….
Project One: My Third Quilting Book!
I am writing my third book-and it is very different from the books I’ve written before.
My first two books are primarily motif books (though the chapters on skill building are chock-full of info!) The first book, Free Motion Machine Quilting 1-2-3 is filled with 60 every day motifs including: Loops, Lines, Spirals, Leaves, Flowers, Illustrations, Circles and Squares.
While the second book is More Free Motion Machine Quilting 1-2-3. It includes another section on skill building and 60 more motifs. The motifs are seasonal: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, Celebrations, and More….
My Third Machine Quilting Book!
BOOK 3 – The book I’ve been busily writing is totally different. It is 30 Lessons. Each lesson includes an in-depth review of a machine quilting topic and it includes a small (cute, cute, cute) project to practice the technique, skill or material.
I’M EXTREMELY EXCITED ABOUT THIS BOOK!!! (Available Spring 2020!) It is the answer to all the most frequently asked questions here at The Inbox Jaunt. We tackle the questions YOU have asked and the (quilting) dilemmas YOU wonder about…combined with the techniques I use when I’m teaching…and so much more!
The projects are like mini-quilt-a-longs. And of course, there’s a section on doodling in every Lesson!!!
ALL SKILL LEVELS
We start with the fundamentals and finish with an advanced project. To be honest, I learned some things while I was writing it-because it forced me to think in new ways!
PROJECT TWO….
Well….You’ll have to wait until tomorrow to hear what Faye, Nora and I have been working on for YOU!!!!!
Stay Tuned!
What about YOU?
Are YOU working hard? Do YOU have anything to show for it LOL?
Do YOU ever learn new things while YOU are explaining a subject to someone else?
Do YOU just LOVE to FREE MOTION QUILT? (You will after this book…lol!)
Signed,
Squilt and Lori
