Thread Samples for Free Motion Quilting

July 24, 2014

Nora's Rose Free Motion Quilting thread samplesThe weather has been beautiful in Minnesota for the past two weeks and I have been out and about exploring our wonderful park system…

Good for me, but bad for the quilt-blogging business…

Today, just a gentle reminder to make thread samples before every project!

Read more about recommended quilting Threads.

(NOTE This sample is Nora’s Rose-See the tutorial for Nora’s Rose free motion quilt pattern.)

Also, Please note:  The free motion quilt tutorial page has been updated and all the motifs are available!

Enjoying the weather while I can,

Lori

Great idea! It also gives you more practice with whatever motif you are going to quilt. So glad I stumbled upon your blog.

Lori, I am brand new, not even born yet, to FM quilting. Do you have any beginner tutorials, or suggestions of a good place to start? I love the simple way you break each design down into simple steps. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!

That is a great idea! Thanks?

  • So true and I have to train myself to do this when doing a project. This post was particularly timely because I just ordered some of the Superior thread sample sets (they’re having a great newsletter sale promotion) and was looking forward to trying out all the great threads I’ve heard so much about.
