Happy Morning, Quilters!

How does YOUR garden grow?  The daisies in my garden are just about to shine!

I LOVE daisies!

Today’s machine quilted daisy –perfect for any square block–is a variation of The Basic Block we learned last Tuesday– The Square Daisy is even easier to stitch!

Begin the motif in the corner, add a little spiral in the center (where many seams intersect) and add petals along the diagonal and straight divisions of the block–a perfect way to stabilize a block AND make it as pretty as a daisy!

If necessary, draw diagonal lines across the block.  If the block has seam lines, this may not be required.

Begin stitching in the upper left corner.  Stitch a convex line ending before the center of the block.  Add a Spiral in the center of the block  (A full circle would work as well.)

Add a pointed petal along the vertical axis of the block.

Continue working clockwise around the block, adding pointed petals:

Add another pointed petal along the diagonal axis and the horizontal axis.

Continue around the block…

Complete the half petal from the first step, then stitch all the way around the block…

Or stitch 3/4 around the first block to begin the next block.

(Finish stitch the left side of the blocks after all the blocks in a row are complete.)
