Good Morning, Quilters!
Welcome, welcome!
The doors are open to our Sunflowers in December Quilt Show! The quilts are all free motion quilting samplers from our recent online FREE machine quilt-a-long HERE
One of the best things about a quilt show like this is seeing the individuality of each quilt–even when we all started with the same basic concept and composition. The quilts are very beautiful and very creative! Thank you to all who participated!
BEST OF SHOW
Today’s show is being judged by YOU-the viewers. Please vote on your favorite. The name of the artist is below the quilt and please include the number if there is one. (Do try to evaluate each quilt based on the quilt itself and not the photography–quilt photography is very tricky!)
The winner (announced on Friday, December 23) will receive a box of sewing goodies–thread, fabric and notions from The Inbox Jaunt as well as bragging rights!
THANK YOU to all who participated. YOUR quilts are all BEST of SHOW!
Sunny (though -22F)-in-Minnesota,
Lori

Noreen Borys. I love variegated and she finished beautifully.
Darlene Storey
I vote for the Noreen Borys sunflower quilt
Kathy
My favorite is by Barb Ellis. Even enlarging the picture on my screen, I cannot tell if she used thread or paint, but I like the way she made the yellow travel from upper right to lower left — the sun is shining on her flower. All the choices were very nicely done, making it very difficult to choose.
Gerri Pymm
I vote for Jern Siew. Lovely concept for the sun flowers
Karen Salemi
Joan Liboiron gets my vote. Honorable mention to Christine Barnsley #3 and Carol Pitts. They were all beautiful but these three really grabbed my attention.
Willeke van der Heijden
Pat Williams 1 is my favourite, but I like them all! Beautiful job.

What a gorgeous quilt show! I am voting for Jern Siew because she has inspired me to make a quilt just like that. And now that I have been doodling your motifs, Lori, I know that I can do it!
Lori Campbell

My vote is for Noreen Borys. Great job everyone. Hard to pick a favorite.
Monica Hendewerk
Pat Williams #1. Loved all of them. So interesting to see how the color of the thread made such a big difference!!
Ruth
Noreen Borys!
Marta
What a dilemma! They are every one wonderful. I was privileged to be a judge in some art and photography exhibits in the past. Always a difficult job! I also want to say that our daughter’s wedding had a professional photographer. My dress was purple and in all the photos, it looked royal blue.
For the quilting here, I love so many of them.. I will pick Debbie Kanavel as First, Joan Liboiron as Second and Colette Hawkins, Pat Williams 2, Peggy Beck and Noreen Borys tied for Third. Wish I could see them all in person…drool !!
Wish the poinsettias had their own exhibit.
Ann Lindquist
I thought they were all beautiful. Great job to all.
Lynne Capehart
Not an easy choice. I have three favorites: Noreen Borys, Pat Williams #1, and Carol Pitts. Can’t choose between the three.
Paula Tursi Park
First, ALL the quilts are beautiful. You all took the initiative of creating one of a kind that cannot be duplicated. I really enjoyed them all. I vote for Pat Williams #1. Good luck, and keep quilting!
Elise

They were all beautiful. Noreen Borys gets my vote because of the beautifully shaped petals and background quilting that made the flower pop.
Neena
Noreen Borys, but it was a hard decision. I love the variety of ways everyone completed the Sunflower!
Marianne Rooks
Wonderful quilting! Wow! I chose Barbara Stanbro #2 because the unique layout and color choices complemented her demonstration of the several motifs in your demonstration sample. Her #1 was also well done, and there was so much “eye candy” to enjoy on all the entries!

So hard to choose – they are all lovely. My vote is for Noreen Borys with Joan Liboiron’s a close second.

VERY difficult to pick just one. I loved Jern Siew’s quilt, but she didn’t follow guidelines at all, I mean the flowers aren’t even sunflowers! But great quilt. For this project, I pick Debbie Kanavel.
