Sunflower Quilt Show-Vote for YOUR Favorite!

December 19, 2016

Good Morning, Quilters!

Welcome, welcome!

The doors are open to our Sunflowers in December Quilt Show!  The quilts are all free motion quilting samplers from our recent online FREE machine quilt-a-long HERE

One of the best things about a quilt show like this is seeing the individuality of each quilt–even when we all started with the same basic concept and composition.  The quilts are very beautiful and very creative!  Thank you to all who participated!

BEST OF SHOW

Today’s show is being judged by YOU-the viewers.  Please vote on your favorite.  The name of the artist is below the quilt and please include the number if there is one.  (Do try to evaluate each quilt based on the quilt itself and not the photography–quilt photography is very tricky!)

The winner (announced on Friday, December 23) will receive a box of sewing goodies–thread, fabric and notions from The Inbox Jaunt as well as bragging rights!

Noreen Borys. The thread color choices make it pop!

  • Melody Lutz

Nice job everyone!!! Lori, you must be so proud. NOREEN BORYS gets my vote.

  • Elsie W

    Pat Williams #1

  • Di Gross

Love all of them! I vote for Noreen Borys. Thank you!

  • Marta

I can’t help but wonder about our opinions if all photos were taken by same photographer under same lighting. This is so interesting to me. Some have not been mentioned by name and each one of those has some features that I love…Y’all just can’t do “ugly” !!!!! I didn’t sew one either… working on Christmas gift quilts. Still one to finish up for a 3 yr old.

  • Carol W

I love the way that Jern Siew put her piece together.

  • carol Edge

Pat Williams #1 is my pick but each one is great as i did not do one at all.

  • Kelly W

My vote goes to Noreen Borys — but everyone of them were lovely!

  • Joan Cook

These are all so impressive, it’s hard to decide on just one, but Noreen Borys gets my vote. I loved the thread she used and the way her quilting enhanced the beauty of the flower itself.

  • Carol

Noreen Borys – and I did not peek at other answers first!

  • Noreen Borys is lovely. Great work, everyone!

  • Hard to choose, but Noreen Borys stood out to me. Congratulations to everyone who participated.

  • Mary K Finn

All of these are beautiful. I especially like Noreen Boyrs’ work – nice flow and the stitching really pops!

  • I vote for Maureen Borys because I think she captured not only the sunflower but the green tinge from the leaves as it looks in real life. Wonderful!

  • Charm

Lynn Brazen, the fabric really makes it.

  • All beautiful!!

  • Wendy Bain

Great job, everyone! My vote goes to Noreen Borys. The slight coloration made it a stand out!

  • congratulations to everyone, they are lovely.
    I particularly like Colette Hawkins.

  • apylinski

    Lynn Brazen

  • Rosemary

My vote is for Pat Williams #1. Her entry is stunning. A lot of time and effort went into each and everyone…Congratulations ladies!! Oh, to be able to stitch like those entered!!

  • Pat Williams 2

  • Janette

Beautiful work ladies , really hard to choose, but l like Lynn Brazen work and fabric

  • Leslie in MN

My vote goes to Noreen Borys. But what a lot of talent shown!

  • Noreen Borys. Loved the contrast and how everything popped. Now I just need to finish mine! Thanks for all the inspiration.

  • Laurpud

    I can’t decide between Jern Siew & Pat Williams-#2, they’re both awesome

  • Bette

What lovely pieces were submitted! If I have to choose just one, my vote goes to Jern Siew. Congratulations to everyone who participated. You should all be very proud of your beautiful work!

  • Would like to vote for them all, but I’ll choose Colette Hawkins. Nice stitching overall and lovely job on the border.

  • Elizabeth Storck

Pat Williams #1 gets my vote. All entries are just beautiful. Great job Ladies!

  • Here is another for Noreen Borys. For some reason, perhaps the darker thread work, it just stands out head and shoulders above any of the others. There are some real beauties here and a great show to look at and I went back several times to make sure, but Noreen’s is my final pick. I really enjoyed the use of so many motifs in different ways.

  • Louise

Great job on all of them but Noreen Borys gets my vote!

  • Marcia

I would have to say Pat Williams. And I believe that #1 & #2 are front and back of the same Quilt. And of the two sides #1 is my fav.

  • Karen

They are all outstanding! I went back and forth on all of them! I liked Noreen Borys.

  • Noreen Borys…loved the colors and the stitching!

  • Cathy W

Noreen Boyer. I could see the quilting detail better. So many beautiful ones

  • Ann ***smiles***

    Pat Williams-#1

  • That was hard! But my first place vote goes to Noreen Borys. However, It just barely nosed out Carol Pitts’ wonderful color choices and beautiful quilting.

  • Nicole M

I liked Noreen Borys, though they were all beautiful.

  • Marilyn Larkin

Noreen Borys: Not only is the contrast so effective but her stitching is really even, I am very envious of her skills, Noreen must spend so much time doodling to achieve the great result. That being said, everyone’s sunflower is beautiful, such sunny quilts to gaze upon in the midst of your bleak winter

  • They are all beautiful works of art but my vote goes to Jana Pratt

  • My favourite is Noreen Borys. Her quilting is just stunning

  • Geri Prentice

    Noreen Borys

  • Kerry D

They are all great, but the ones by Pat Williams jumped out at me, particularly the #1, which to be honest was probably only because of the fabric. Amazing personal spin on the quilt.

  • Nancy

Pat Williams # 1 is my first choice, but they’re all lovely!

  • I love them all. All of you did a beautiful job. Jern Siew gets my vote for #1.

  • anudge

I liked Noreen’s best, but all were wonderful.

  • They’re all so amazing! I can’t pick just one. I’m sorry. These are my favorites:
    Pat Williams #1 or #2
    Peggy Beck
    Carol Pitts
    Noreen Borys
    Joan Liboiron
and mine of course, Debbie Kanavel 🙂

The poinsettia one from Jern Siew is wonderful and creative. I didn’t know we were sharing those yet. I’m still working on mine.

  • Teresa T.

I vote For Noreen Borys quilt. Nicely done.

  • Karol

I vote for Noreen Borys’ quilt. Loved the subtle green undertones and fab quilting. Very creative and a real standout.

  • Rochelle Summers

They are all so pretty I cannot chose a winner. Everyone of them seems to have mastered the free motion quilting techniques you presented. Congratulations to all.

  • Linda Feikema

    I vote for Noreen Borys
