Good Morning, Quilters!
Welcome, welcome!
The doors are open to our Sunflowers in December Quilt Show! The quilts are all free motion quilting samplers from our recent online FREE machine quilt-a-long HERE
One of the best things about a quilt show like this is seeing the individuality of each quilt–even when we all started with the same basic concept and composition. The quilts are very beautiful and very creative! Thank you to all who participated!
BEST OF SHOW
Today’s show is being judged by YOU-the viewers. Please vote on your favorite. The name of the artist is below the quilt and please include the number if there is one. (Do try to evaluate each quilt based on the quilt itself and not the photography–quilt photography is very tricky!)
The winner (announced on Friday, December 23) will receive a box of sewing goodies–thread, fabric and notions from The Inbox Jaunt as well as bragging rights!
THANK YOU to all who participated. YOUR quilts are all BEST of SHOW!
Sunny (though -22F)-in-Minnesota,
Lori

Pat Williams #1
Iris
Noreen Borys
Karen L.
I am going with Barbara Stanbro #1 since I watched her quilt this design along with your tutorials. She was so good about explaining what she was doing and why. And she is often funny!
Ann
All of the Sunflower Samplers are truly outstanding and beautiful.
My vote goes to Lynn Brazen for her amazing quilted sunflower sampler. Her choice of stitches, the rendering of the stitches, and her choice of fabric as the foundation of the project are stunning.
Michele Midtbo
Christine Barnsley 1. They really are all beautiful!
Cheryl
Noreen Borys, love the choice of thread

Lynn Brazen because the in addition to the lovely quilting the choice of fabric is spot on for me in summery Melbourne, Australia. An expected +35 degrees C for Christmas day!
Patti Habetler
Pat Williams #1….Wow! I loved the creativity and talent of all the quilters!
Patti Sandage
Christine Barnsley #1- very creative and beautiful. They are all wonderful though and I love to see everyone practicing their FM. What a fun thing to do!
Heidi Dewey -- in Virginia
I vote for Carol Pitts. From a teacher’s perspective, I admire that she stepped out of her comfort zone and tried some new patterns that she may not have been comfortable with to begin — but grew in her skill for the trying! Kudos to everyone, for giving this a go and putting your work out there! So proud of you!
Needle and Foot
This was a really difficult choice. I have enjoyed looking through all of these…they are just gorgeous. I think my favorite is Pat Williams. But only by a small margin because really they are all wonderful.
Beverly
I like Christine Barnsley-#1 because it is the one I would want. So many others are beautiful with lots of great quilting. But this one is my style so it gets my vote.
Laura
Pat Williams #1. So much visual detail in each sampler, so very hard to choose. Wonderful work all of you!
Catherine Santa
Noreen Borys Stunning work by all who shared their work!!!
Lori Hope
Noreen Borys, although it was a tough decision–so many beautiful works of art!!
Vivian Lewis
All are wonderful but Noreen’s appeal’s to me most.
Rosemaryflower
I really enjoyed viewing all of these. Each and every one of them is a masterpiece. I am really impressed. I absolutely adore the diverse creativity. Your skills are stunning, ladies.
I am sorry. I cannot pick just one. so many stand out as exemplary samples, but if I look deeper into the ones that are more subdued, I see that the work is also outstanding.
Lori, I think you need to send a prize to everyone 😀 <3
Nancy
Pat Williams #2. – They were all wonderful! Thank you for the inspiration.

Barb Ellis

Jern Siew. Very creative.

Noreen Borys…the contrast between the fabric and the thread colors made this quilt stand out. There were others worthy of a prize, but could only vote for one. Pat Williams #1 was a close second. It was fun to see student’s work.

Noreen Borys
Robbi Imhoff
Jern Slew. I love her fabric choice.
Cheryl McGlothlin
Mary Ann McGlothlin
Nancy Simmons
My favorite is by Mary Ann McGlothin

Many lovely pieces, but the one I could still vividly remember after looking at them all was Pat Williams #1, so this gets my vote as the most amazing. Honourable mention to Peggy Beck. Well done everyone.
Mary Smary
I like them all but if I were choosing one to keep, it is Pat Williams #1. What lovely work, Pat!
Pat
There are great qualities in so many of these pieces- Congratulations to each of you that finished and submitted! and thank you for sharing!
I liked Pat Williams #2, Mary Ann McGlothlin and Peggy Beck’s projects as the QAL was described. I liked Jern Siew’s and Christine Barnsley #1 for creative use of the pointsettia quilt motif. It was fun to see Roberta Imhoff’s “big picture” use of the project. It was also fun to see how Lynn Brazen used the batik and how some features pop with her color choice. I also liked Barb Stanbro #2 for creative use of the motifs to make a really great sampler that would look good on any wall with it’s architectural feel. Good luck picking one – I know I didn’t help…….

I like Noreen Boyers quilt. The stitching and colors worked well together.
Martha
SO hard to choose just one! I narrowed it to four, and decided Noreen Borys stands out because of her thread choices.
Judy Monaghan
It was hard to decide as they were all so fabulous but I vote for Carol Pitts. I loved the strong contrast of the thread against the beautiful green.
Linda Thompson
Jeanette Funk.

Victoria Miner
Roberta Imhoff
Vicki Mooren
Pat Williams #1. I just love the addition of the green on the outer petals it just makes the sunflower pop. Everyone did an outstanding job. Now I just have to finish mine. Christmas gifts got in the way of finishing it up, but I will get it done.
Dianne
Noreen Boys gets my vote. Great job!

Noreen Borys gets my vote, but all of them are beautiful, and finished!
