Hyacinth Free Motion Quilting

Hyacinth Free Motion QuiltingGood Morning, Quilters!

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s breath of Spring air…The Hyacinth Free Motion Quilt tutorial!

While it is sunny here in Minnesota, the temperature is hovering around 27F and threatening snow!  I’m really tired of winter…

We’ll just pretend it doesn’t exist anymore…

and with Easter on the way, it’s easy to liven up the house with bright colors!

IMG_0296This bright “vase quilt” is stitched on pastel hand-dyed fabrics with Sulky 40 wt Rayon on top and Aurifil cotton 50 wt in the bobbin, on my Bernina 820 (domestic sewing machine) without a BSR.  I tried Tuscany Silk batting in this quilt…new for me.

IMG_0297I’m not sure I like the bright pink outline, but it certainly reflects the colors I was craving when I pieced it (a long time ago—see the Umbrella Quilt companion.)

IMG_0305What are YOU doing to add a little color to YOUR life?

I’d love to hear—(as long as it’s not off-color, of course!)
