The farther I go out on my whole cloth quilt, the more puckers I am having. I spray basted my layers & using a JUKI sit down quilting machine. Any help Lori????? Kate Smith

Sigh, I always seem to have that problem. After reading up a lot, I decided it is because my machine doesn’t come with an adjustment thing that allows me to set how tight or hard the pressure foot closes down on the fabric as it is making the stitch. It is set forever in the construction of the sewing machine. I have to sew very slowly, holding the fabric itself, to hold it taut ever so slightly to prevent puckers. Sometimes I just let it go in the design. But it is nervewracking and against the flow of FMQ..Thus my FMQ is always on very small designs.I also stopped using any batting with very much loft. Very limiting to creativity! New machine?? Nada,.. medical bills get the first big bite ! LOL I DO hope you have a fixable situation !!

Kate, sorry to hear you are having trouble with your whole cloth piece. I don’t know if it can help now but it may have helped to grid baste across your entire top before starting. Basting is very easy to take out as you go or ideally when you are done. I hope things start looking up. hugs

As common as robins in Iowa.

    I’ve never seen a Red-winged Blackbird before. It’s beautiful!

Love the Red Wings, the first migrating birds back in spring – hearing their conk-la-ree is such a welcome sound!

Great pic. We have them in Illinois but I’ve never gotten a pic of one.

I love red winged blackbirds! We have lots of these birds in Kansas.

I don’t think we have these in Florida? Pretty amazing!
